Re: 2008 Presidential Republican Primary

It's way too early for me to make a vote. I don't even know who many of these people are, or what they stand for?

May the best person get the nomination, & hopefully not just based on being a popular name within politics.

I bet Newt comes out in 2012 or 2016 for a serious run at the White House. Maybe, this year if President Bush has success in Iraq, & gets Bin Laden.

In simple terms, if President Bush's approval numbers go up to around 50 again, then Newt's in.

Please, oh please, make Newt the GOP candidate! I can't think of a better way to make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN they lose in a landslide!

But then, the announced bunch of assclowns aren't much better.

Ok, why don't you explain to us, if you can (doubtful) how Mr. Newt would lose in a landslide.

I agree with that statement. In fact, if we win in before the 08 elections, it will be difficult for the Democrats in 08.

Re: 2008 Presidential Republican Primary

The only sure way for the Democrats to loose is if they nominate Hillary. Other than that they will have the upper hand no matter what happens in Iraq.

I voted but am registered as independent. Sorry.

I voted Ron Paul, though I doubt he will get the nod.

What does Bush's low approval rating have to do with Gingrich running or not? If anything, Gingrich has been the anti-Bush in the GOP. He has been heavily critical of many things the Bush Administration has done. Bush's approval rating is a non-factor in Newt's decision to run. His decision will come down to whether or not there is a credible conservative in the race.

I wouldn’t underestimate Hillary, she does have a large following and she is a woman…..If Hillary could capture a large portion of women voters……(shiver)….I just hate the thoughts of it.

Politics1 - 2008 U.S. Presidential Election (P2008)

Who would you vote for if the primary were held today?
I registered as Democrat so I can vote for a candidate that is unlikely to win, and then vote for a different candidate in the Presidential election.

That's odd. You are voting against a whole party instead of trying to support a candidate that most fits your views. I always see primaries as a way of actually getting to voice my opinion about the one guy out of many that almost speaks for me. Something that I never get to do in the general election. I do not like either party enough to sabotage the other.

I only see Republicans and Feminazi's showing any real support of Hillarious.

I do the same thing (switch parties)but to have a say in the best candidate for either party. (depending upon which one needs my vote.)

Strangely enough, if California does change it's Primary law, I will be able to vote for one party for President, and theoretically for the other in the other races.
