Strangely enough, if California does change it's Primary law, I will be able to vote for one party for President, and theoretically for the other in the other races.
Even in CA you can vote for whomever you chose in any race as far as a general or statewide election goes ,even CA hasn't shifted that far to communism.

You have to be registered in the party to vote in the primary. This was supposed to be a primary poll.

Well obviously her but then again also you for pointing out she has only listed those who are running even though half haven't actually announced as much...like i said, it must run in the family.
Everyone listed has announced. I suppose it helps to read the posts.....but why are you even on this thread? You've told us you never vote and aren't registered!

Not to mention how far behind in campaign finds he would be if he waits until September as he claims he is going to.
Or, y'know, he could be waiting until September because that's when candidates for President normally wait to start running, at least the ones that end up winning. (And Newt, being a historian, I'm sure is quite aware of that.) While to some extent this may put him behind in fund raising, he won't need as much money as he won't be having to fuel a campaign organization for the first nine months of the year.

I mean, at current, Newt is running between 2nd and 4th place in various states without even announcing his candidacy (including polling 20%+ among Republican voters in large states like California). Why should he start raising and spending money now?

Actually in many states you don't. Here Georgia we have open primaries where anyone can vote in either party's primary regardless of party affiliation (or lack thereof).

Well OK then. So vote away everyone....

I know in NJ you could only vote in the one you were registered in. Maybe in California you can vote in either, I don't really know.

But you can't vote in both primaries, right, in Georgia? Only one or the other?

And welcome to the board!

Don't get me wrong I am just as happy he isn't starting now. As a moderate Republican I think Newt would be just slightly worse for the party than say Jeb Bush. Frankly I hope he waits as long as he has indicated he is going to wait.

If you had read my previous posts you would know. In the last primary, I voted for the lessor of evils in the republican party. Next Feb, it will depend where my vote is needed as to how I register. Then in June??? who knows, but that would be for lessor offices.

Yep and if pigs only had wings.
