Re: Getting a bit closer now pick your Republican candidate.
Going by the numbers alone (which, admittedly, can change a hell of a lot between now and Iowa), he's absolutely trouncing McCain at the moment. By that definition alone, he's currently the front-runner.

Re: Getting a bit closer now pick your Republican candidate.
Giuliani is a great candidate for the Democrats, but as a Republican, I don't know, he's a New York Liberal on his third wife, how's that going down with the Moral Majority crowd?

Since you can't vote in the primaries, your opinion is worthless on this subject.

Don't know about that but you've just proven exactly what goober was saying. "aborted babies and gays". Giuliani is pro-life and pro-gay-marriage .. and you come back with "aborted babies and gays" as an insult? That is truly amazing. You didn't put 5 seconds into thought about what you were saying .. just blurted out limbauch-coulter-hannity party spin line without even thinking that you'd be validating what you thought you were opposed to. That is amazing. |

Re: Getting a bit closer now pick your Republican candidate.
I would imagine Satan winning the ticket. He enshrines what Republicans have come to represent.

Re: Getting a bit closer now pick your Republican candidate.
I voted for Rudy cause it's his to lose. McCain is the Dole of '96 candidate. Romney has had the biggest conservative conversion over the last couple of years; now he's strictly pro-life.
Newt Gingrich is a hypocrite, having sex with another woman while he was married, while he was condemning Clinton. At least Clinton had the sense not to have sex with Monica, but the bottom line is, WHO THE FUCK CARES?! I don't care if Newt is cheating, I don't care if Newt's a fruit, balance the budget, don't get into wars you can't finish, be there for Americans when trouble and tragedy happens, and that's pretty good. Fuck who you want. I like Chuck Hagel, but he's too irresponsible when it comes to the budget. He voted for every Bush tax cut and giveaway. Too many super rich companies are getting corporate welfare, while the middle class has been gutted these last few years. Makes no sense. The middle needs to be strong so that the top can stay strong, and right now Bush has created the strongest climate of greed ever. Hagel's stance on the war is right on, except for the glaring fact that he too, like so many other intelligent Americans, didn't know or didn't understand the situation on the ground in Iraq. No thoughts about sectarian violence, which was obvious to some of us, but not to most Americans, or most Americans in government who voted to give the president authority to use force if necessary. So, yeah, Rudy's the guy. Republican candidates, by the way, are running the weakest field I can remember. The Democrats on the other hand are running the strongest field that I can remember. The people 4th or 5th or 6th in the polls for the Dems would all make fine presidents. |

Re: Getting a bit closer now pick your Republican candidate.
Well, its official now, Fred Thompson is a definite maybe.
FOXNews.com - Transcript: Former Sen. Fred Thompson on 'FOX News Sunday' - FOX News Sunday | Chris Wallace What do you think his chances are? Can he make up the lost ground? Looking at the field, personally, I don’t think there’s much ground to make up.

Re: Getting a bit closer now pick your Republican candidate.
I'd like to see Jeb Bush and Mary Cheney as the GOP ticket.
But I'm a Democrat.

Re: Getting a bit closer now pick your Republican candidate.
The problem for the GOP will be rooting out the Dixiecrat wing that energized the party at first, but ultimately made it a regional one.
Problem for the Dems is similar in that they have to break the corporate influence over them, and we still live in a pluotocratic system. |
