Mitt Romney and the fact that he is a mormon

I have a gut feeling that this will become a major issue as we move closer to the election.
I just wanted to throw that out there now.
I just forsee the media and competition shedding the spotlight on the more obscure aspects of this (newer religion) as the elections draw nearer.
Just my prediction.
Your thoughts?!

Lol. It's going to be an interesting campaign, isn't it, a mormon, a woman, an Afro-American, a confessed adulterer and hypocrite and some other christian white guys.

And ALL of them falling over themselves to be Friends of Zion. Lol.

Great av, herb.

I couldn't give a rat's ass what a candidate's religion is, provided that candidate doesn't use his or her religion as a basis for policy...

Re: Mitt Romney and the fact that he is a mormon

The fact that Romney is a Mormon will probably be an issue with narrow-minded bigots.

The fact that Romney is a flip-flopping moron should be an issue for us all.

Rofl.

I'll bet that no current candidate would survive ten days on this site with their shell intact.

Would those be the same narrow-minded bigots that voted for Bush instead of McCain in the primaries?

Just because the guy believes that God is a living man who lives on the planet Kolob in the constellation of Cancer with his many wives is no reason to believe that the Fundamentalist Christian Wing of the GOP will have a problem with him.........

Nu uh....is that really what Mormons believe? Damn.

I went rafting down the Colorado River in Utah for a week once. The guides were these hot, blonde, tan Mormon guys. They didn't drink or do drugs or have pre-marital sex. Exactly like Muslims. Anyway, it was surely a different culture than what my friend and I were used to back in Joisey

Yeah, I have to agree with you Sam. Most of the "door knockers" who come to my place have been the most drop-dead gorgeous guys you would ever see. Why do they do that? Do they know how excruciating that is for a gay man?

Yeah, Utah is a far cry from anywhere else in the country. They have some strict alcohol laws as well. Someone told me you have to obtain a permit to buy and drink alcohol, even at a bar. I don't know if that is true or not.

In any case, it's another example of how you get the government you vote for, but being that those folks live such strict lives that is probably what they want anyway.

Re: Mitt Romney and the fact that he is a mormon

I think it is pretty disturbing that this could be an issue. Many Christians claim that they are picked on all the time yet the one and only time a candidate with a real shot isn't from the mainstream of their party many have a problem with it. It reminds me of when the preacher at my mom's church said that people shouldn't vote for Kerry in 2004 because his running mate doesn't except Jesus as his savior. For all the complaining about being picked on they sure have the leadership in this country to themselves.
