Re: Fred Thompson considering a run at the White House

Interesting article in the WSJ about Thompson's PAC; it's given more money to his son as a "consultant" than it's actually given to candidates.

Thompson's not as clean as y'all seem to want to think.

How is that indicative of anything "unclean?"

Think about it. What's the purpose of a PAC?

To raise and spend money in order to elect or defeat specific candidates.

Or, in this case, to funnel money to his son, 'cause that's all this PAC has done.

Whatever. Mark my words. Barring a catostrophic failure (ie unexpected death) Fred Thompson will be the next President of the United States.

No he won't be. Really, not being nasty, he won't be. If Bush leaves - that is if he and Cheney don't find some way (courtesy of the stacked Supreme Court and a compliant Chiefs of Staff) of hanging onto power past the normal second term for a president, then Fred, of course, won't get the job. But if Bush/Cheney do in fact comply with the constitution and resign then the next president will be the Democratic Party nominee.

The Republicans are in meltdown. Until the neocons are burned out of the GOP, like the warts they are, the Dems have the keys to the legislature and the White House for the next few terms.

You need to do some research before you make a decision, He had lots of dealings with lobbist in the past, theres also the issue with his son and the PAC, he also has lymphoma which is incurrable and could incompasitate {sp} him at anytime. Where does he stand on the main issues that are important to the GOP
IE aboration,gay marrage etc?

Funny how the polls say exactly opposite.

Curious how someone that hasn’t yet decided to run and, according to you, can’t be trusted is already even with the Dems frontrunner.

His support is only going to get stronger. He comes across as down-to-Earth and with lots of common-sense. Unlike most of the candidates currently runnung, he doesn't sound like a politician, which plays very well with voters.

No, no, you weren't following the script Sam, you're supposed to say, "Yep, they sure do" and then give a link. I suppose even something like WorldNetDaily is better than nothing.

I know you've got the link, you're busting to drop it in so go for it
