Re: Mitt Romney--is he sincere on stating his views?
I think he's not sincere; if we nominate him then we'll be worse than the Dems in 04. See they didn't know what was lay ahead of them with all the flip-flop accusations that later followed but at least we know what we'll be in store for this time.

Re: Mitt Romney--is he sincere on stating his views?
I'm fairly certain that I couldn't support or believe anything said by someone whose "faith" didn't believe blacks were human until 1978 while being called "mud people", and they only way they could get into heaven is as slaves.
Here is another of his flip-flops .. Quote:

Re: Mitt Romney--is he sincere on stating his views?
Yes, I agree. I think the Republican Party would be damning themselves by nominating him. The Dems will pull the flip flop card on him like was done to Kerry, and rightfully so. It will hurt his credibility and cost him the election.

Re: Mitt Romney--is he sincere on stating his views?
From the question of the opening post, I vote #3.
As governor, Mitt had a strong track record of sincerely supporting whatever political viewpoint he needed to in order to be elected as governor. I believe that Mitt is sincere in his statements that he will support whatever political viewpoint he needs to in order to be the Republican candidate for President. I think Mitt just wants to be elected and issues are just a minor inconvenience or annoyance. He'll say what he needs to say and promise what he needs to promise because that's how the game is played if you are handsome and rich and well connected. |

Re: Mitt Romney--is he sincere on stating his views?
Romney is the Bush horse in this race, so he'll "adopt" the positions that Rove tells him he needs to have to get the GOP nomination, and then he'll "moderate" those positions for the general election. In the end, the only real position that the real power in the GOP care about is low tax rates for the wealthy.

"Mitt Romney--is he sincere on stating his views?"
That's a big NO from me. I prefer personal conviction and passion for one's views rather than what polsters tell him to believe based on projected votes for that view. This is way too much deja vu to the Clinton years for my taste. However, Mitt was raised by two politicians. He may not know how to have personal convictions. I give him a lot of credit for getting elected as a Republican in a state so blue I need to wear UV protective shades when I see it on a map. He did do some good for that state by sticking to state issues, as a previous poster noted. His views on national issues never needed to be well defined. Now they do. And, I'm leary of those who let polls define their views.

haha, aye benjamin!
i thought it was funny that chris matthews focused so much on what an attractive couple the obamas were, while making nary a mention of dennis' wife. during the post debate interview with mr. kucinich, i was sorta looking at the right side 'o my tv screen, thinking, "yarrrrr, who is that fine lass?". aye. ![]() |

I hope Romney wears a brace. I'm sure he gets sore from all the flip flopping he has to do.

Re: Mitt Romney--is he sincere on stating his views?
I feel like all the republican candidates - except ron paul - are either dumb or saying what they get paid for or saying what the public wants to hear.
No sane person can believe this "islamic fascist are a threat to america", "we are the worlds last hope", "we must win in iraq" stuff. All these lies are just alienating americans further from the truth. |
