Every time I llisten to liberal talk radio, I'm amazed at the absolute hatred directed at George Bush. They blame him for absolutely everything and, to them, the idea that he could ever possibly do anything even remotely good or right is laughable.

It makes me wonder; who do you hate more, George Bush or Osama Bin Laden?

Equally I think. They both got over 3000 Americans killed for no good reason.

They are family friends remember....I think they both hate America and what she stands for. They both have their own agenda which has nothing to do with protecting our constitution. I'd like to see both of them out of power.

But you can't really compare the two, as I see it. Osama bin Laden is clearly a bad dude, bent on the destruction of America etc. However, Bush is supposed to be the good guy, leader of the free world and shit. So in that sense I hold his actions against him more than I do bin Laden's. Bin Laden we can ASSUME going to say/do shitty stuff, we know he is a bad guy, he is the enemy and whatnot, why would we waste time lambasting him?

Well i doubt you can classify me as a liberal but considering i would never have heard of osama if bush wasnt there, i hate bush more.

I don't "hate" either. I do dislike both for different reasons, though I can't say I dislike one over the other. I wouldn't say that I'm quite a modern "liberal", though, but maybe more in the classical sense.

I would say I dislike Bin Laden for being a malicious person who is bent on nothing but American suffering. I have a distaste for Bush due to his being a massive tool and being an embarrassment for the U.S. Otherwise, I've never had much of an opinion on him. He's really not a very interesting politican.

Why stunning? bush and the general republican policy is the biggest destabelizing factor in the world. I don't know if the dems would do it better, but I felt a lot better about the US under Clinton.

I voted "I hate George W. Bush" most because I knew it would piss you off, Steve. The poll is inane but I'll feed ya just for grins.

Bin laden isnt really in it to kill americans. He just wants them to leave the middle east alone.

Of course, the argument could be made (and I'm likely to make it) that Bin Laden is bent on destruction and mayhem, while GWB is doing what he thinks is right, but fucking it up in a fashion befitting such an incompetent boob. This discussion might just lead us back to the "Define good and evil" thread where we were debating whether bad intentions or bad outcomes are worse.

Personally, I don't buy all of the "blood for oil" conspiracy theories about Dubya and the war in Iraq. My personal opinion is that he didn't go there for any sort of corporate payoff or nefarious purpose - he went there because he was actually stupid enough to believe that bringing Democracy to the ME was just a matter of "hiking up his britches and gettin' 'er dun." That is to say, we're embroiled in Iraq's civil war because of the unbelievable narcissism of GWB - he wanted his legacy to be "That there dude what dun brought peace to the Middle East" and he thought that installing a US-sympathizing regime would cause the other Theocracies and Dictatorships in the region to "topple like dominoes" (gee, that sounds familiar, doesn't it?)
