Obama gets the "Oprah Bump"

Oprah has already come out in support of Obama, and now she's holding a huge fundraiser.

Oprah's endorsement of certain authors has basically created best-sellers overnight.

CNN.com - CNN Political Ticker Oprah takes out big guns for Obama «

It's worth noting that many of Oprah's audience are women who might be considering a vote for Hillary and if Oprah changes their mind, it's directly taking votes from Clinton.

Do you think the "Oprah Bump" will be significant for Obama?

Could be interesting. Let's see how it turns out, eh?

Re: Obama gets the "Oprah Bump"

I do have to wonder about the quality of voters who will vote for a candidate based on celebrity backing. I'd much rather make up my own mind by reading the platforms and history of each candidate!

Agreed. Though I'd rather people base their votes off of Oprah's call than, oh, say Paris Hilton or something.

True. At least Oprah is an intelligent woman!

And a marketing genius... That's why I wonder what effect her endorsement will have..

It's not only $'s, it's marketing and exposure....
