Well, perhaps that's because the men in bars are idiots?

this I think would be ultimate victory. I wonder what libs would do if thier chosen canidate does not listen to some of thier rather paranoid thoughts.. hell let the dem president destroy the patriot act and start up a similiar bill with a different name...

this is what I predict would happen anyway.. I wonder if the 'progressives' would be as whiney as they are now. I would not compain. In fact I am looking forward to it.
The leading Dem contender has stated she will not end US involvement in Iraq. . .

Quote:
She said in the interview that there were “remaining vital national security interests in Iraq” that would require a continuing deployment of American troops.

The United States’ security would be undermined if parts of Iraq turned into a failed state “that serves as a petri dish for insurgents and Al Qaeda,” she said. “It is right in the heart of the oil region,” she said. “It is directly in opposition to our interests, to the interests of regimes, to Israel’s interests.”

Truthdig - Ear to the Ground - Clinton: Bring (Some) Troops Home
Most of the other Dem candidates have said pretty much the same thing.

It should be blatantly obvious that all any of these Dem cadidates are planning to do if they win is just withdraw only as many troops as they believe are needed to get the war off the front pages, so it won't damage their rep while in office.

IMHO, I don't think Hillary has the political/military expertise to pull it off the way she wants. She, like Bush, will just end up with her head down in the big quagmire pie, having been the only woman elected US Pres, which is all (I suspect) she cares about.

Just a reminder... He's not running for re-election in 2008. Nor is Cheney. It's a Constitutional thing, in case your profs forgot to tell you, or they had no clue.

It's usually the liberal-minded college kids, sucking up every lie their profs tell them that think like that. Real world. Two terms. That's it.

Two points:

1. Ted is not even remotely liberal minded. I'm also not sure that he is in college.
2. I am a liberal minded college kid, and I can quite assure you that the professors I have had that discussed American politics were quite familiar with the concept of presidential term limits.

Re: I hope the democrats win presidency...

Democrat, Independent, or Republican, I hope someone smart with common sense wins the presidency. However, formidable candidates like Bill Richardson, Ron Paul, or Dennis Kucinich are seen as slight or are laughed off by people who resent others that make them think. Why is that? Are Americans afraid of hearing the truth, even if that means questioning their own values? Maybe.

I think it's a cynical ploy by the White House to hand off the war to another President. The eventualities in Iraq will happen whether America stays or leaves, but if they leave, those things could happen much sooner. The current administration has no clue about what to do, has no courage to do the right thing, lives in denial, and will hand off the war to another President, who will have to make one of the most courageous and sad decisions by getting America out of Iraq. It's really sad. The whole thinking about the involvement in the Middle East should be overhauled, and it'll take someone with courage to admit it and to implement it. So far, I like Ron Paul the best. A true conservative. Him and Kucinich would give us the best, most truthful debates about the important things going on, not distractions like gay marriage.
