MSNBC Senior Political Analyst admits he's afraid to criticize Islam publicly.

Now THIS is really sad..this is what our country is coming to:

MSNBC Senior Political Analyst admits he's afraid to criticize Islam publicly.

Lawrence O’Donnell, Jr., is MSNBC’s Senior Political Analyst and a panelist on “The McLaughlin Group.” He has won a reputation over the years for a volcanic temper, and has gained attention recently for an emotional attack on Mormonism. But will he speak out about the elements of Islam that Islamic jihadists are using to recruit and motivate terrorists? Don't hold your breath.

Here he is with Hugh Hewitt, via Hot Air:

HH: Would you say the same things about Mohammed as you just said about Joseph Smith?

LO’D: Oh, well, I’m afraid of what the…that’s where I’m really afraid. I would like to criticize Islam much more than I do publicly, but I’m afraid for my life if I do.

HH: Well, that’s candid.

LO’D: Mormons are the nicest people in the world. They’re not going to ever…

HH: So you can be bigoted towards Mormons, because they’ll just send you a strudel.

LO’D: They’ll never take a shot at me. Those other people, I’m not going to say a word about them.

HH: They’ll send you a strudel. The Mormons will bake you a cake and be nice to you.

LO’D: I agree.

HH: Lawrence O’Donnell, I appreciate your candor.

Re: Thoughts on Obama

These latest attacks from Clinton camp are just signs of desperation. You know how people can be dangerous when he/she feels desperate, though. So, it is highly advisable to be resolute and wise against those lies and mudslingings.

Hillary Clinton campaign is starting to reveal their true colors: racist, condescending. That's the reason she's been using those coded words: naive, inexperienced, unelectable, Muslim, now drug dealer. Her black supporters need to call her on that. Playing on people's fears as usually: Bush light.

Hillary’s problem is that she never has to earn anything. She turned a $1,000 investment into $100,000 with the help of some friends, got to run the health care proposal in 93 because she is the president’s wife, get elected NY State Senator because Charlie Rangel pre-arranged everything. Now she’s running her presidential campaign she’s making a mess out of it. The reason they are letting her running the campaign is to show leadership and experience. This is turning out to be a big mistake. Now Bill is trying to salvage the Clinton brand and I believe it’s already too late.

If she can't lead a campaign, how can she lead a country?

Bill Clinton, according to sources, says he's angry with Hillary's team, and I guess he wants now to revamp her campaign. How can he could hep her? Then, God forbid, if she is elected, we can be sure we have a "shadow president" who rules the country in his third term. What a pity it would be!

The Guardian says:

Quote:
Hillary Clinton's campaign for the White House suffered a serious setback yesterday when her main Democratic rival, Barack Obama, took a poll lead for the first time in New Hampshire, a key early state.

The latest ratings, part of a trend that has seen him narrow the gap over the last month, has rattled the Clinton team.

In a sign of its unease, Bill Shaheen, a co-chairman of her campaign, yesterday raised Obama's drug-taking as a teenager, even though he had admitted to it in his autobiography.

In an interview with the Washington Post website, Shaheen said the Republicans will target Obama's background. "It'll be, 'When was the last time? Did you ever give drugs to anyone? Did you sell them to anyone?"' Shaheen said.

[Sheriff's note: The Clinton's camp is now apologising for the "DRUG" remark.

Fox News says: "Clinton's campaign said it had nothing to do with his comments...

Shaheen later released a statement apologizing for the remarks.

"I deeply regret the comments I made today and they were not authorized by the campaign in any way," Shaheen said in the statement."]

Obama's campaign manager David Plouffe said it was "an increasingly desperate effort to slow her slide in the poll".

The poll in New Hampshire marks a dramatic change in a state where Clinton has enjoyed leads of between 10 and 20 points in more than 50 polls carried out this year. That advantage has disappeared with less than four weeks left, in what is now shaping up as a tight, unpredictable race.

A Rasmussen poll yesterday put Obama on 31% to Clinton's 28%. Two weeks ago, Clinton had a 7% lead.

Her downward trend was reflected in two other polls published yesterday. A WMUR/CNN poll put Clinton on 31%, down five points since last month, and Obama on 30%, up eight points...
Time Magazine has an article on Obama's red state appeal. (I hate thid red-blue expressions, by the way)

Quote:
Obama's Red State Appeal - TIME
Political organizing for Democrats in red states like Nebraska can often feel a bit like leading AA meetings. But that hasn't deterred more than 300 Nebraskans from forming a dozen groups for Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign, and they aren't the only ones. On Monday, the Obama campaign announced that over 300 Iowa and New Hampshire Republicans had decided to cross party lines to support Obama. At Obama events in Oklahoma, Kentucky, Virginia and Georgia, a good 20% of audiences routinely raise their hands when emcees ask for Republicans in the crowd. A "Republicans for Obama" website has 11 state chapters with 146 members. An August University of Iowa even found Obama running third in the state among Republican candidates, behind Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani but ahead of both Fred Thompson and John McCain. And a national Gallup poll this month also found that nearly as many Republicans like Obama — 39% — than the 43% that dislike him, compared with the 78% of Republicans who held an unfavorable opinion of Hillary Clinton.

Re: Thoughts on Obama

Cyberella, this is Obama thread, not Muslims in America thread, moron. If you want to spew out your hatred, try find a more suitable place. You can try Daniel Pipes's hairy ass, which you are already licking.

And to your great disappointment:

The grassroots movement continues to grow every day, and Obama continues to move forward in the early states.

Today, two polls indicate that the race is closer than ever in New Hampshire. According to a CNN poll, "Clinton has dropped 5 percentage points since the CNN/WMUR November survey, while Obama has gained 8 percentage points, according to the poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. Clinton is now at 31 percent to Obama’s 30 percent."

And according to a Rasmussen poll also released today, Obama is leading Clinton among likely primary voters in New Hampshire, 31% to 28%.
Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election.

Meanwhile, a Strategic Vision poll that will be released tomorrow shows Obama strengthening his lead in Iowa. According to MSNBC, the poll shows Obama at 33% compared to Clinton at 25% and Edwards at 24%.
Poll: Huck, Obama lead in IA - First Read - msnbc.com

And in case you missed it, yesterday, an Insider Advantage poll showed Barack leading Clinton in South Carolina, 28% to 22%.

Re: Thoughts on Obama

Here is the list of radical extremist hatred groups:

Radical Watch

By contrast with all these extremist radical zealots, Obama rolls up with a message of hope where all Americans, regardless of their color, race, religion and ethnicity, could live in harmony and mutual understanding.

That's why America needs to be transformed for the better:

Barack Obama turned out Tuesday night for a spirited, late-evening Seattle appearance and said:

"I know the only reason I'm standing here today is because sometime, somewhere, somebody stood up when it was risky, stood up when it wasn't popular, stood up when it was hard. Standing up with courage and conviction, they somehow managed to change the world.

We will stand up in this election to bring about the change that won't just win an election, but will transform America."

Re: Thoughts on Obama

Obama has rich, powerful Muslim activists behind him such as Tony Rezko, powerful Muslim activist Nation of Islam head, Louis Farrakhan, as well as the black supremacist activist, Jeremiah Wright. Money and power buy a lot of silence.

Also, you can tell by the venom that Obama's supporters start spewing- the screams of racist and bigot, that PC insanity is prevelant in the U.S. Doesn't matter that he's a Muslim born and raised, that he has told us flat out, 'I'll stand by the Muslims', that he doesn't care for the white race, that he is an extreme left wing radical, or that he's for the illegal aliens "rights"- H*ll no! We feel guilty! We gonna put the first black man in the White House!!

And that's just what he's counting on, to ride him all the way to the White House!

Re: Thoughts on Obama

U.S. Rep. Dave Loebsack said today he is endorsing Barack Obama for president. He said that Obama, a senator from Illinois, offers the best chance to bring about change and healing.

Drop dead, Obama haters!

Liebermann announced he endorsed McCain. This is a clear right wing, extremist Jewish sport.

How is that much different than aiding and abetting the former Hussein of Iraq or Al Qaeda into power or roles that may have been more useful in our sparring with the former Soviet Union than a form of better public policy and better relations with the Middle East?

Cyberella;

Re: "As a culture, we lose our way when we abandon our Judeo-Christian heritage and foundation".

Perhaps on the other hand we are just now emerging from the desert after determining "we have been lost" and just wandering for many years !

There are many roads leading to the same desired end and each one is based on Mans OPINION only.

And America does not have a Judeo-Christian heritage. This is just a lie told by those double-faced people such as Richard Perle or Daniel pipes who serve two flag and stab America in the back.

Cyberella, those pictures as you may have noticed already, include many who are not Muslim, such as Chris Tucker and Project Islamic Hope is one of the many organizations that are designed to help and assist those who are in need. How many right-wing, extremist, hateful and dangerous Jewish and Christian organizations in America? Do you think "Jewish" Richard Perle, who spied on the US, is more hateful against America than Bin Laden?

Think about this.

Think about your ideology of hatred and blood-shedding.

Re: Thoughts on Obama

This is really interesting.
I also liked the following comment:

Quote:
Clinton supporters urged to caucus ... 11 days late - Ben Smith's Blog - Politico.com
"I wonder how many who would have caucused for her will now not be there come the 3rd. kind of speaks volumns about what is going on underneath the smoke and mirrors of the Clinton campaign. Then compare it to the smoothly run operation of the Obama campaign and you know who is the better manager. Obama."
