Not as white-as-a-sheet as you are now. Glad to guess that. You are diminishing in number, right?

Quote:
Stunning win lifts Barack Obama’s bid to become first black president - Times Online
Mr Obama heads to events across New Hampshire this weekend having beaten two tough opponents in Iowa — Mr Edwards had campaigned there for four years — and amid a creeping sense that this year America just might be ready to embrace a black, 46-year-old candidate called Barack Hussein Obama. He has run a civilised, almost cerebral, campaign, and is promising a decisive break with the bitterly contested politics of the baby-boom generation that have marked the presidencies of Mr Clinton and George W. Bush.

Mr Obama has another advantage: nearly 45 per cent of New Hampshire’s registered voters are independents, the key to John McCain’s victory in the 2000 Republican primary, but who appear this week far more ready to flock to the candidate of change.
If you haven't yet had any heart-strike, try this:

American Res. Group confirms Obama's lead now in NH: Obama 38%, Clinton 26%, Edwards 20% and Richardson 3%.

NH is ours!!!

Still on foot?

Re: Thoughts on Obama

I think you may need some reading comprehension help, a lot of help.
I know the huge majority of America is not racist and made a comment on those lines, you appear to think other wise, that’s why you are making an issue over the result re: the caucus results ala your comment; ” amont of bigotry and xenophobia culminated in America”....

I personally hope Obama gets the nod. And when you stop showing surprise at the lack of racism displayed by the average white voter, we will have gotten somewhere.

Re: Thoughts on Obama

Everything in Obama reminds me of the french presidential candidate Ségolène Royal. She had a vague program, which was more of an attitude than an actual plan for the country; she looked good, dynamic and friendly; she is woman, and Obama is black. Both are relatively inexperienced. Ségolène Royal won the primaries against very good candidates. But in the long run, her initial charm dried out, and her inexperience was made evident. She lost, she deserved to.

I hope Obama doesn't deserve to lose, and will become the next president. Like son of a hun, "I want to want to support" Obama. But I'm skeptic.

Re: Thoughts on Obama

More brand new New Hempshire polls:

Obama edges ahead of Clinton in New Hampshire poll | Politics | Reuters

Obama 32
Clinton 31
Edwards 18

RealClearPolitics - Election 2008 - New Hampshire Democratic Primary

And this poll was taken even BEFORE Obama won Iowa. In a Rasmussen Poll, taken on 1/4, Obama is up by 10% in NH, and in an ARG poll, taken between 1/4 - 1/5, Obama is up by 12% in NH!!!!

We are winning!!

Re: Thoughts on Obama

Does anyone have any word on the candidates' environmental domestic policy?

I think this may be a good time to gather enough impetus for better domestic public policy regarding functions available to the executive.

There is not much to stop the executive branch from upgrading to hydrogen, or electric vehicles by fiat of their office.

As an example, if our California governor had implemented better environmental policy and claimed compliance with his campaign rhetoric, we could have had hydrogen or electric public sector transportation in the state by now.

Re: Thoughts on Obama

Obama looks like to be the dominant winner of tomorrow's NH primary. This would be a deadly blow to the Clinton campaign, rubbing her off the title of "frontrunner." How a ten per cent deficit in Iowa make one "frontrunner?"

Clinton’s lead in the national polls is crumbling. Monday’s update of the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows her advantage shrinking to its lowest level since the very first Presidential debate took place this season, more than eight months ago.

Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election.

Jan3: Clinton 41%, Obama 24%
Jan7: Clinton 33%, Obama 29%

Re: Thoughts on Obama

Someone please shoot the sheriff.

As for Obama's plan on energy: he plans on spending a lot of money on developping new stuff; he does not expect any results before 2050 (he plans a 80% reduction of CO2 emissions by 2050). All in all, global warming is obviously not a priority: Obama's not planning to force people to pollute less, and his plan doesn't have to show any effect for 42 years !

Finally a reason to vote for him! By 2050 (probably much sooner) all of specious, phony hype about human created global warming will be over, and we'll all be laughing at what a pile of rubbish it was. Chalk one up for Obama!

Now if he wasn't a tax and spend liberal, .........

Re: Thoughts on Obama

I'll be honest, after seeing what happened in Iowa, and listening to all of the candidates (almost 24/7) for the last few months, I think Barak Obama is going to be the next President.

That doesn't mean I hope he is, just that I think he will be, and I think he'll beat Mike Huckabee in the General...

How many Presidential elections have you been through Steve? This thing hasn't even started yet.

On the Democrat side, Obama has a good start, but the big states haven't voted yet. Hillary has a very well oiled machine and to count her out at this point (before the big blue states have even voted) is premature and quite frankly, stupid.

The Republican race is even more WIDE open! Huckajesus (whenever he speaks, I think he's actually channeling a large, black, baptist woman) is a long-shot at best. His record really stinks. I'm talking "rotten egg" stink. McCain, Romney, Gulliani - any of these three could easily win the nomination.

Then there is the long campaign after the nominees are chosen. This is far from over.

I've been through seven of them.

And, as I said, it's a prediction. What good is a prediction if I wait until the race is over?
