Hillary will look to "re-invent" herself before NH.

Of course, when you don't actually stand for anything, that is a pretty easy thing to do.

Matt
Well, she stands for moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Totally contrary to international law, however, so she'd be better of reinventing herself as law-abiding.

He didn't actually vote for war in Iraq though, did he. That goes a long way, apparently, with a public who see foreign affairs as 'a core issue', according to Madeleine Albright. Hilly, on the other hand, voted to let George have his head, if you'll pardon the expression.

They, first, need to be wary of him in the caucus held in their home state. If Obama is nominated by Democratic Party, he has the best chance of beating any Republican opponent.

The Des Moines Register | January 04, 2008
By Thomas Beaumont

"Illinois Sen. Barack Obama claimed an historic victory in Iowa's Democratic caucuses Thursday, opening the 2008 presidential nominating campaign by convincingly beating the party's national poll leader, Hillary Clinton, and onetime Iowa favorite John Edwards.

Overwhelming record turnout and an influx of first-time caucusgoers helped stamp Obama the party's national frontrunner and the first African American to win the caucuses.

..."On this January night, at this defining moment in history, you have said what the cynics said we couldn't do," Obama, his voice hoarse but emphatic, told cheering supporters at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines.

"In lines that stretched around schools and churches, in small towns and big cities, you came together as Democrats, Republicans and independents to stand up and say that we are one nation, one people and our time for change has come," he said."

Very well-said.

Obama has spent fewer years in politcs but has better judgement than his opponents, which makes him the ideal candidate. Experience guided wrongly may easily cause one million Iraqis lose their lives. Sounds simple, right?

first- he wasn’t in the senate when the vote was taken, so that’s a moot point.....and easy to deny you would do something you actually were never forced to face...second- Madeleine Albright is not a very astute political pundit or expert or reader of the sentiment ..we have been though this in another thread re: exits polling etc..the war if I recall came in forth.

obama also is absent experience as in fact Hillary is, she’s got what? 4 years in the senate on him? Personally and the roles of past presidents bears this out, governorships are the overwhelming past political histories of the c in c’s we have chosen.
Running a state is seen I think as a microcosm of the nation in many ways- dealing with budgets, law enforcement, mechanics of social issues, immigration etc....

I hope Clinton falls hard. She was so cocky when she started, vehemently announcing that she was going to win, and now she is trailing by double digits behind her nemesis. Time to get out the popcorn.

It wasn't just Hillary that thought she was going to win. It was the media, politicians, the whole ball of wax. This was suppose to be her year & she was thought to be the "definite" next President of the United States.

It's been a real surprise in both parties. It used to be Romney & Clinton, now it looks like Obama & ??. Right now, I am hoping for Romney on the republican side, but who knows. My reason, Romney actually fixed the "health care" system in Mass. No one else has done that.

One thing for certain--it's going to be a very interesting year.

I don't think I've ever heard anything from his detractors on the left as reasoned as that. Its usually something much more nuanced like "he's dumb," or "he did it for oil."

That is so "dead balls on accurate" that I am hoping that the eventual Republican nominee is smart enough to use it!
