Re: New Hampshire Primary

Any news? I have checked CNN's website, and they are showing Romney in the lead, followed by Huckabee, Thompson, McCain, Paul, Giuliani, and Hunter in that order. McCain, Paul, Giuliani, and Hunter are all pretty close together, right now.

That's right, this is a shameless bump for this thread. I would not be surprised if Romney takes this state, mostly because of his record in Taxachussetts.

Understandable. I have been watching closely, as I have been thinking about becoming the precinct captain in my area for a certain candidate. And I own my own business, so if I goof off a little here and there, the boss doesn't get too cranky.

I don't think they have any real results until the polls close at like 6PM.

They have announced the results of Dixon Notch (or whatever it's called) that voted at midnight....

In that one, which was a total of like 25 votes from the Hamlet, Obama got 16 of them and McCain got about 5... I'm pretty sure that's not representative of what the total tally will be.

Re: New Hampshire Primary

Last night one of Hillary's high staffers said "if we lose NH by less than double-digit numbers, we consider that a win".....sorta an unusual "victory" if you ask me..

That's kind of funny.... If you can't make the jump, lower the bar.

Well, just like Iowa, all the losers will be spinning their results in a positive way.

The part, in this case, that makes it funny is that they're expecting to lose. What optimism!

Sorry, I was reading the CNN's election chart wrong. It's a total tally of how many delegates each candidate has. So, because Romney took Wyoming on Saturday, it is showing him as the leader. Not surprising, that. I suspect that Romney will take Idaho and Utah, as well, due to the high LDS percentages in those populations.

Re: New Hampshire Primary

Hart's Location went for Obama 9 to 3.

The thing I picked out of the news casts was that the Secretary of State was shipping extra Democratic ballots out, because many locations were in danger of running out of Democratic ballots.
That means the Undeclared voters are overwhelmingly asking for Democratic ballots, and that's a trend that should have national implications in November.

Hopefully they get all the ballot kinks worked out before the national election..... we don't need missing ballots and hanging chads, etc. There's enough drama without adding that.

Re: New Hampshire Primary

Ah yes, those debates and those polls all predicted that Obama would win big. Than the people voted and guess what! Hillary won and won big considering what happened earlier. What happened? People told polsters one thing because they did not want to be called a racist but when they got into the voting booth they voted their convictions.

Re: New Hampshire Primary

I must say I'm much more comfortable with these results than those in Iowa.

Re: New Hampshire Primary

I think Hillary tapped on a good point in the debates. Obama & Edwards calling for change,"with very little experience," & Hillary stated she has been making changes for the last 35 years, which she has done, including a prior attempt at national health care. She is also a little more hawkish that Obama & Edwards, which will appeal to swing voters. Obama just says he wants out of Iraq, while Hillary states get out "responsibly".

Is America ready for politicians who have little experience, or do they want someone "who has been there & done it"?

I think NH answered that question tonight, with a win for Hillary.

Hillary's problem--Bill Clinton constantly on the stage with her, at her campaign side, etc. I think that does more harm than good. Just too many Americans that don't like Bill Clinton.

Maybe. Or polls could be viewed for what they are: an estimate based on statistics. Even well done polls still have a chance to give you an incorrect answer, because you are not sampling the whole pool of voters. They don't give you the error estimates with each poll for nothing.

That being said, the Democratic race just turned into a real dog fight.

What has Hillary actually changed? Kindly cite one thing she has actually changed, if you would. Because despite her chest-thumping on the issue, I've never seen any actual results.

Re: New Hampshire Primary

"Making changes for 35 years" ... IMHO that sounds pretty funny ... what actually was it that she kept changing in all those years?
