I don't think so. Although not really discussed, he is reputed to have also shared Bill's womanising problem in the past. He is also married to a 3rd Circuit federal judge. Thus, although very social, likeable as a 'cool guy,' popular and competent, Rendell would, IMO, just seem too much like Bill in all aspects, including the ones that draw fire on the personal side. That is something Hillary would not want to draw attention to in an election and would still like to privately strangle Bill for having imposed on her politically as well as personally, an insult added to injury.

On the other hand, Rendell would provide a clear advantage of helping secure PA's huge electoral votes, and it's an important purple state to win, so I wouldn't totally rule it out. I just think she'd be reluctant to pick Rendell as VP unless she really felt compelled to do it to secure PA.

In that vein, that's who Hillary is going to court. She polls well with the elderly, moderates and business types.
But not well enough lately. Obama is making inroads.

Quote:
I notice you mentioned you feel she is bad for business but business often feels otherwise and hence her big donors and support from that sector. To quote my own father and friends who operate wealthy corporations "We all made money under Bill."
Didn't we all? Of course, all of that began when the GOP won in November 1994....and Bill had a respect for business that his wife doesn't have. I have always acknowledged that he was the least mischievous Dem when it came to the economy. But even he raised taxes before the '94 election. The results were flat tax revenues for two years.

As to why any business person would believe Clinton combined with a left-wing congress would be good for business is beyond me.

Quote:
Governor Rendell is a good Clinton friend in my state and follows much of the same style and hence he is very popular. They were very good at creating 'two-for's between business and ordinary joes where each made out in a strategem as well as not lopsiding business so that others lose out to a few well connected firms looking to unduly monopolise and gorge themselves. This is even true in the health care area, where many businesses are sick to death of being the actual financier of national health care coverage via their employee benefits which in turn depletes their corporate assets and increases their costs and drives up their prices.
Rendell seems to be reasonable regarding his economic policy. But the congress cannot be left out of this.

Beyond that: Have you read about Hillary's plan to freeze five-year freeze on the interest rates of adjustable rate mortgages?

You are a smart man. You know and I know that rates on all mortages would move up sharply as those who pony up the capital for those markets will move away from anything that the government is running and start putting that cash into funds - and out of the mortgage market.

That is simply dingbat "economics": the perverse fantasy world of unreconstructed Democrats, circa 1935. Roosevelt would have loved this.

Quote:
Her touting of health care is also targeted to elderly voters, especially where it draws the distinction that her plan would cover everyone as opposed to Obama's.
there you may have a point. And I will say that Obama is much worse regarding economic policy matters - as far as I can tell after wading through the syrup....

Quote:
Hillary will do what she did to win twice in NY--work hard. She will focus on groundpounding PA and OH where there is a large elderly and more moderate and Blue Dog population with huge delegate numbers as a prize. The demographics and the numbers game support that strategy, it is the only viable hand she has to play, and I really don't think she would personally want to play another given her outlooks and comfort zones.
Well, it will be interesting. It isn't looking too good for her right now, but she is tough and shrewd and she has her other half. (Oh - the thought of a third Clinton term.... )

I forgot to include this story about Hillary's lunatic bailout plan. The mind boggles. Only a left-wing Democrat could think of this:

Clinton unveils subprime bailout plan - Dec. 5, 2007

Re: How will Hillary re-invent herself now?

Yesterday in Texas, Billary said, "I am tested, I am ready," which remained me of the campaign slogan of Rudy Guilliani.

Just like him, Billary, having lost all the states to Obama, said she would concentrate on the remaining two big states, Ohio and Texas.

This had fired back in Guilliani's hand and I presume the same will happen on march 4th.

Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign manager and former DNC chair is going to endorse Barack at1 PM! He says that Barack can build a broader coalition of young voters, independents, and Republicans.

Duh.

Re: How will Hillary re-invent herself now?

South Carolina gave us all a small glimpse of how vindictive and brutal the trailer trash Clinton family can get. The attacks will intensify and Hillary's crocodile tears will continue to flow. Here are a few ideas that they are discussing right now: Images of Obama's grandmother holding her chicken superimposed onto images of the east lawn of the White House, words like "porch monkey" and "spear chucker" will suddenly start being used by Clinton surrogates to describe him, male schoolmates of Barrack "Hussein" Obama's will come forward and say they had gay sexual experiences with him, unnamed sources will confirm Obama's 'homosexual' leanings in the past, one or more of his former girlfriends will forward and say he was unable to get an erection while with her - she'll probably go into graphic detail about needing to stuff a cucumber into his rectum to obtain an erection, a Gitmo detainee will come forward and say that B "HUSSEIN" Obama is an Al Qaeda operative a few days before the convention, It will come out that Obama's wife is addicted to pain pills ala Kitty Dukakis, photo's of her turning tricks for a 'fix' will suddenly turn up everywhere, if all else fails - Obama will be shot in the head.......Remember, Bill and Hillary will do ANYTHING to win.

Glad you enjoyed it. Sadly, I fear it is true. The Clinton ego knows no bounds. Mark my words, it is gonna get really ugly. It is war in the DNC.
