Hold up there on Obama--foreign policy advisor looks to be 21!

First of all: To let everyone know on this board. I donated $200.00 to the Obama campaign a couple of months ago. His speeches imspired me, like everyone else.

Just tonight I learned that the Obama campaign fired his foreign policy adivsor.

No big deal to me, UNTIL I saw her picture.
A very YOUNG woman.

Just to explain: I have kids that are in their early 30's, educated, skilled professionals & older- than the picture I saw of Obama's foreign policy advisor.

The picture of Obamas foreign policy advisor, was so young, it scared the be-gee-gee's out of me!

My husband is a Viet Nam veteran. He & our grandfathers have fought & died for this countries freedom. Sometimes we have entered wars that have been wrong, & sometimes we have saved the free world.

In conclusion: I will NOT back a candidate that doesn't put experience at his disposal, when it comes to foreign policy.

Our countries security is much too important to be put into the hands of a President Obama, with inexperienced adviisors at his side.

For starters, that was just one of many advisors Obama has at his disposal. You don't think ALL of them are in their early 20s, do you?

Second, we've already established that age isn't exactly a great indicator for sound advice. Just look at Bush. He had lots of old, experienced advisors, topped off by his Secretary of Defense, Ronald Rumsfeld, who has had an illustrious career in regard to foreign policy. Yet that didn't stop the Bush administration from falling into the Iraq boondoggle.

So don't write off Obama just because he decided to have some fresh faces contribute to his foreign policy. For all we know, she may just look young but could have a PhD in foreign policy/international relations.

Samantha Power

She's 38. And gone.

No big deal, Bush had no experience, and his staff (full of neo-cons) missleaded him on everything

After that, any democrat can do way better than him, so relax

What age do you feel is the magic experience point. Did you even bother to look at her education. Maybe you need to look at your lack of life experience.

You're saying the 'experience guided' past seven years of absolutely disastrous US foreign policy that has ruined our currency and increased our indebtedness to record levels is what you admire? And you want more of the same?
