Here is a question for the Obama-worshipers about the speech:

1) Did Obama announce his resignation from the church?
2) Did Obama renounce all ties to the church?
3) Did Obama denounce the core racialist doctrines of the church? (I.E. "Black Value System")

Please answer these three questions...

1 and 2 no, 3 yes.

It never is when the comparison is black to white.

The only reason for his speech today was because of the pastor. It is pretty difficult to discuss the speech without discussing what it was about.

In his speech today:

Obama spoke of a Constitution "stained by this nation's original sin of slavery," spoke of a "white community" (as if such thing existed), and spoke in a language of division (Asians, African Americans, Hispanics) instead of a language of inclusion (Americans). It was race-laden when the candidate needed to return to the sucessful tactic of studiously avoiding the subject.

I don't think there is a problem with organized groups of people who share a common heritage and it is always treated differently when a group is a poor minority (white or non-white), but that was not the problem with the pastor. He was blaming other groups for the problems of his own group, and that is the controversial part, not so much that the church takes pride in their race.
