McCain shows off his ejucashun on Iran

Quote:
The misstep in question occurred during a news conference in Jordan earlier Tuesday, when the presumptive Republican presidential nominee repeatedly said Iran was supplying al Qaeda. Iran is predominately a Shiite country and is not aiding the Sunni dominated Al-Qaeda.

McCain ultimately corrected himself after Sen. Joe Lieberman whispered in his ear.

"I'm sorry, the Iranians are training extremists, not al Qaeda. I am sorry," the Arizona senator said.
.
.
.
The DNC later sent out a transcript of McCain's interview Monday with conservative Hugh Hewitt, during which he appeared to make the same mistake.

"As you know, there are al Qaeda operatives that are taken back into Iran, given training as leaders, and they’re moving back into Iraq," he told Hewitt.

This old moron is poised to wage another 100 year war on Iran if elected. American people should stop him and help him enjoy his last days in this world.

Come'on now. Iraq, Iran, they're only off by a letter. It's unfair to expect a conservative to know the difference. Especially a conservative who is near 70 and would be a feat to even recall his grandchildren's names.

Speaking of which, Shi'a and Sunni, they both start with an "S." So if a conservative confuses the two, that's to be expected. It's unfair to expect them to be as knowledgeable as we are. Just unfair.

I bet you were just kidding.

Maybe you are right. Maybe it was just a slip of tongue when conservative, blissfully ignorant GWB, decided to invade Iraq.

It is life, anyway. Full of small mistakes. Some learn late.

All I'm saying is: you have to lower the bar a bit when dealing with conservatives. You can't hold them to the same high standards that apply to a liberal. If a liberal confuses Iran with Iraq, it's news breaking. If a conservative does it, it's just routine. It's not a slip of the tongue, it's more like a slip in their intelligence.

That's all I'm saying. And I'm talking from experience.

OK, he is an old man and this mistake can be attributed this. then, who would guarantee that McCain will not send the troops to Iran instead of Iraq if elected?

He likely will send troops to Iran, and probably to Syria or Sudan also.

We're going to be at war for as long as we have a Republican president. That's just the plain reality.

Ah, how intersting it is that we have another poster who uses the brilliant discussion technique of using generalizations. Always fun.

Re: McCain shows off his ejucashun on Iran

And btw the argument that "AQ is Sunni so won't be armed by Iran" is a loadof crap...we armed bin Laden and Zawahiri along with the former co-leader with Bin Laden who was killed before OBL solidified AQ and they are the ones who would refuse to take arms from fellow muslims?
