Americans Believe Obama on Race and Wright.

You can get the complete poll, with additional questions and NO media yabbering here:

For those who want CBS to tell them what they can read themselves, click here.
CBS Poll: Good Reviews For Obama Speech, But Problems For Democratic Candidate Remain As Fewer Think He Could Unite The Country - CBS News

Celebrate Obama supporters! A recent CBS poll provides some comfort for those having sleepless nights fueled by roaming brownouts in the Glowbama effect (self included). The usual reservations apply. hese polls have been taken before the eventual Republican onslaught of PAC ads that use the speech and turn it on its head. Splicing things out of context in order to frighten voters. As Americans are carpet bombed with these kinds of ads on both sides all summer, the question remains whether Obama will be able to withstand that tide. But as of now, things are looking good.

A recent CBS poll found that in addition to overwhelmingly positive reviews of the speech, larger groups of Americans agreeing with Obama’s stance on race and, most importantly, 71% of Americans feel that Obama explained his relationship with Rev. Wright sufficient. That’s big.

Re: Americans Believe Obama on Race and Wright.

What I object to most: Is listening to a 40 minute speech, whom some believe to be magnificent, from a man who is a 20 year member of a racist, hate-filled, separatist church.

I am not going to buy into this. I am a former supporter & donor to the Obama campaign.

If those same words came out of a Mosque in the middle east, we would presume that this group was a terrorist organization.

Oreo we get it. You are a one issue voter. Jeremiah Wright is your one issue. That's the most important criteria for you in choosing the next American president. Jeremiah Wright. Not the economy, war, healthcare or education. Jeremiah Wright.

The character of a President is very important to me.

I don't want a President who says one thing but does the opposite. Obama has exhibited this by being a 20 year member of a racist, separatist church. Then after the videos came out, being forced to address his Pastor Wright, with his racial speech. Most of all, I don't want a hypocrit in the oval office.

This should be very important to you also. This so we can get out of Iraq, we can get decent health care, good education, etc. I want someone who can get it done.

Is it, that you just want speeches? Because Obama is very good at that.

Wow, already getting excuses ready for Obama’s defeat. That hardly inspires confidence. Too bad it doesn’t mesh with reality. According to the latest Zogby polls, his lead over Hillary has almost totally disappeared, and he’s trailing McCain.

Interesting, Gallup says otherwise about Obama/Clinton. You're right about the McCain thing though.

Not surprising. Soros is no longer a fan of Hillary.

Re: Americans Believe Obama on Race and Wright.

I didnt say that Obama didnt lose ground. He did, but it hasnt hurt him and, most importantly the tide has already begun to turn back towads his favor. Rememer, we're choosing a president and most Americans are not like Oreo, they are not making all of their decisions on Obama based on Rev. Wright. It wouldve been impossible not to have any scandal.

regards a brown out one must assume there was power to begin with, the MSM ignored this story, you know it, I know it, so no brown out is possible where in there is no Power supplied t begin with.

The msms complicity in ignoring this is, beyond anything they have done in the past. They decided it wasn’t important enough...yea.
But that’s okay because eventually the worm turns, and when it does so I expect NO haggling over the issues, air time etc........welcome to the machine.

Also, I’d like to see the questions- the sample questions.

And you didn’t address the “fewer think he can unite the country”. clearly something is at work here or why else would they think not?

Correct; they are making decisions based on example- i.e. judgment, character, past.

I do urge folks to read excerpts of obamas books, very enlightening.

Obviously, you've never been to an inner city black church. I live in Atlanta and those messages are very common. they account for about 2% of the church's message generally, but it always emotional. Like in the video clips of Rev Wright.

But if it's too much for your to understand, vote for whomever lies to you the least.

But that rules out McCain for his torture and immigration stands, and Hillary for immigration and Nafta (at least). So I suppose you will just sit out?

CBS is the last place in the world I would go to find the truth. These are the guys that perpetrated the Bush National Guard memos hoax.

They have a tendancy of leaving out little facts that blow their evidence out of the water.

Over all, Obama has stopped the drop but he is now losing to McCain. That's nothing to brag about. People are beginning to have second thoughts about Obama and the longer this election goes on the more the real Obama will be revealed.

Not really. Obama's programs will be disasterous for the economy and for our National security. Oreo is taking a great deal more into consideration then you give him credit for.

Maybe Obama figured he could fool enough people that haven't read his books.

Thank God we're talking about real issues now. This, in my opinion, is a completely fair and justified complaint about Obama.

Now please reference (preferably in context, but I doubt that will happen) the exerpts of Obama's books that you, like Imperator, feel are enlightening.

Here are some good ones from Dreams from My Father
