McCain Reaches Out to Hispanics (including racialists) on Cinco de Mayo
I am no fan of "Faux News" but if the following is true I must ask two questions:
1) Which country does McCain want to represent as president? 2) What is he doing meeting with an apparent racialist organisation like the "National Council of La Raza?" Quote:

True, hehe. The celebration here is more in line with Taco Bell, etc. In America it's really more of a bar and nightclub marketing scheme, another excuse to have a drinking out night.

Re: McCain Reaches Out to Hispanics (including racialists) on Cinco de Mayo
Latinos are gong to make or break this election. McCain is going to have to betray his instincts on immigration to appeal to the conservative base in southwestern states. This will cause him to lose latino voters AND those who think he is a "maverick." As McCain is forced to campaign more and more like Bush to win his base it will be harder and harder for him to win the white house.

Not here is Atl, they were all in the streets on and off Jimmy Carter Blvd drunk as hell. Police were stopping traffic just to keep them from getting ran over. Corona and Miller Lite bottles are still everywhere up and down the JC and the side streets.

Re: McCain Reaches Out to Hispanics (including racialists) on Cinco de Mayo
Strange situation.
McCain is perhaps the only GOP candidate who has broad appeal to the Latino community, and that is probably the most under-rated story in this election season. All of the media coverage so far seems to assume the US consists of caucasians and African Americans, and no one else. But both the Latino and Asian vote are highly significant.

Re: McCain Reaches Out to Hispanics (including racialists) on Cinco de Mayo
But how will McCain win southwestern states if he panders to Latinos? Latinos, by far, are registered as democrats in this election. Unlike white voters they aren't digging their heels in about Obama at the rate uneducated whites are. If McCain takes a hardline on immigration, they will flock to Obama. If he takes a soft line on immigration, he will have trouble with whites in southwestern states.

Re: McCain Reaches Out to Hispanics (including racialists) on Cinco de Mayo
Now who's being politically correct. Obama has trounced Clinton in every state with college educated whites. She has trounced him with those with no college whatsoever. That is merely a fact. Did college education somehow not become a goal for millions of Americans? I certainly don't see Republicans "home schooling" their kids after the age of 18. You can be as obtuse about it as you wish, the exit polls say what you need to know. Whites with less education vote Clinton.

![]() That's the way Obama will win - just keep referring to white people who have not completed college as those "uneducated whites". Yeah!

And a person who isn't educated is uneducated. You could of course play a game of semantics. And why is this McCain thread turning into a Hillary/Obama thread? Is McCain really that boring? Personally I don't see a lot of reason for Hispanics to support McCain or the Democrats.

As for McCain, he does have a following among Latinos, and many of them are far more conservative than the Dems seem to assume.
