And how would that be regulated?

I drive a Ford Explorer. I also own a Dodge Caravan and a Volkswagen Jetta. They all use gasoline, as does my lawnmower. Each uses a gallon of gas to a different level of efficiency.

Would you propose the converse approach, as well, which would allow someone buying gas for a lawn mower to pay only pennies per gallon? How would you ensure that someone filling a gas can, ostensibly for their lawn mower, doesn't empty that gas can into their Humvee?

Or is this, again, just more liberal whining without a plan?

Hmm. Perhaps a function of GVW? The heavier your vehicle, the more per gallon you pay.

Hadn't really thought about it. Not really a big issue for me either way.

Re: Remember when..........

Funny thing is, my car isn't a big car, its a sports car. Anyone that knows their ass from a hole in the ground knows a sports car are not known for there size.

My truck, well that is a work vehicle thus its size.

Just plain ole envy, the liberal way.

I think that gasoline is under-priced, and that the subsidies that it has received have done significant damage to us as a nation. We're in a weaker position because of our dependence on gasoline.

I remember the gas lines in the '70s. While it was nice because somebody in the line would inevitably do a McDonald's run (hey, I was a kid and liked McDonald's at the time) and so it was quasi-social, it was also a HUGE warning sign to us. Yet, we chose to ignore it, and spent more money on roads and K-cars, and less money on effective mass-transit.

We've got to catch up; the sooner we do it the less it's going to hurt.

And, yes I understand that the result will be increased costs in food and goods, but I'm willing to pay that price if we can get some real results to finally wean us off the oil barrel teat.

I can fully understand that.

I have put in a delivery charge on one of my items, and the trip charge that I have is about to go up again.

The frieght fuel ser charge is up to 30% from the frieght company.... I can only eat so much of that , I have to as a good business owner pass the increase on to the customer.

Jesus tapdancing Christ.

I just deleted half the thread.

Discuss the topic and not one another, please. Neither I, nor anyone else on the forum, gives a flying fuck how big anyone here's dick is, in fact or imagination.

So, effectively, all you're advocating is robbing Peter to pay Paul.

In the end, nothing is accomplished...
