Re: W Virginia keeps distance from Obama
Sheriff, if I may offer some constructively meant food for thought ... please consider it in the light in which it is offered.
I certainly don't challenge your patriotism anymore than the others who think that sig is distasteful. Your stated intentions are well meaning and have a genuine point of debate purpose behind them as explained by you. People aren't required to not object to war issues, pussyfoot around and/or play delicate on deadly subjects and often shouldn't. That said, I don't think this particular sig is helpful, though. If a political picture is inflammatory to some people beyond the political message, it's unhelpful to the main point of it. There are plenty of pics that pack the same political punch that aren't inflammatory on other grounds. I certainly don't think Obama would choose a sig like that even if he was a private citizen given my impressions of him. And given he is running for office, pics like this from supporters are more harmful than helpful. I'm sure he'd ask any supporter to take such things down because he wouldn't like them personally and professionally. I'd even wonder whether the dead in those photographs are even accurately represented by the political comment. I presume an anti-Iraq message with the depiction. If some of them died in Afghanistan, though, then IMO those people are definitely not being served well by the depiction given the nation has long supported that mission and going after AQ on an overwhelmingly bipartisan level.

Those men/women died for political reasons, not for a noble cause. It was noble to die in Normandy, but not in Fallujah. |

You call freeing millions of people from a brutal dictator not a noble cause? Oh I forgot, you were all for the war until the body count started stacking up then you tucked tail between your legs and ran to the other side. And so everyone knows, Sheriff has admitted to voting for Bush twice, 2000 and 2004. The Iraq war started in 2003. Sheriff voted for him again after the start of the war 20 months later. No ducking out of this one Sheriff....or are you going to ignore this like the question I put forth for you to link where other people here have made false charges of racism and still no answer from you even though you use it as your excuse as to why you lied and posted fake post at a racist site to try and link McCain to a racist group to cover for Obama racist pastor.
