Make that 71.

Frigging lemmings. "Jon Stewart says GWB is stupid so it must be true."

Want to know something ironic...a lot of GWB's success - especially when bending the Dems to his will - is due to the fact that they are ignorant enough to actually believe their own press releases about GWB being dumb. Minunderestimation kills.

BTW - too bad history can never prove me right, but GWB would whoop Obama's ass in 2008 if there were no term limits. Believe it.

You've gone from one inaccuracy to another. Just like how Si Modo and jviehe have pointed out how I posted McCain's age incorrectly, Stewart does the same. In fact he hasn't done a "Bush is stupid" joke as far as I can remember.

Hold the bus!

You're intimating that to your knowledge, Jon Stewart (of The Daily Show) has not (to borrow a term) impugned GWB's intelligence on his show ever - forgeddabout regularly?

Not hard to find even though Daily Show clips are under tight control by Comedy Central.

He does go on to say in a typically non-serious fashion that he doesn't think Bush is "stupid" even though "people always say that he is stupid" - according to him Bush talks as if he were talking to somebody who was "stupid".

The whole segment is built upon the "Bush is stupid" mantra the Dems have been repeating since 1999.

There are countless Daily Show segments built upon the same nonsense.

So you missed 1:06-1:20 when Stewart makes incredibly clear that he doesn't think Bush is stupid? If you have a problem with the skit blame Letterman. Anything to add about the minimum age per chance?

Age Requirement for Holding Office
Humm, I'd argue that the two are mutual-that wisdom comes from intellegence-besides I always struggle to find a true defintion of wisdom-what may be wise to one man isn't too another. Intellegence is an easier guide.

One of the main problems I have with the US constitution is that it invests all executive power in one man-and he isn't even allowed a true cabinate in classical style. While this was useful once, the job is too much for him, no matter how much assistance he is given through EXOP (possably the wrong accronym?) and the deparments-at the end of the day he is the only one with true executive power.

All three branches - Executive, Legislative, and Judicial - have equal power. Checks and balances is the design.

Not really-John Kerry wasn't exactly the brightest himself. To be honest I really wouldn't want a president who wasn't near the very top.

I doubt he would TBH-on the back of a disasteious second term? With the econermy going down, his core base in reteat, a poor media image, the lowest approval ratings of any president (or so I belive), an unpopular war, and a reputation as an idiot? Every factor is against him that possably could-and he didn't exactly have a huge mandate in the first place. Add that to voter fatigue with him and I think you'd be seeing a carter/regan style landslide.

I know, but you still have a singular executive don't you-no matter how checked it is. Too much power in the hands of one guy IMO.

How is it too much power if the branches split power among themselves?

Thats by design though, especially with war. The founders foresaw that in some matter, one person had to be able to make a decision without beuracracy. And all power isnt invested in the President, only the executive power is. Legisilative and Judical powers are invested seperately, and then the states and the people have their own powers.
