SUSAN SARANDON, who appeared in three films last year and won kudos for her TV movie "Bernard and Doris," is still not a contented soul. She says if John McCain gets elected, she will move to Italy or Canada. She adds, "It's a critical time, but I have faith in the American people."

To be fair a government that is considered right wing in Italy would be thought of as being to the left of the democrats if you transplanted them into this country.

the mechanisms in place yes, but believe me, after multiple trips there, the gov. is probably less effective than just about any other eu membership. Cash is king in italy and they gop through fantastic hoops to use cahs vis a vis any traceable transactions.

Who cares. Her opinion is little consequence as she and others like her live in a bubble and are detached from the realities of life. With these folks "it's all good" no matter what.

Unfortunately, too many people care about what actors think. A large percentage of the US population worship actors almost like the US version of royalty. Hell, popular actors can lecture on conservationism and then fly off in their private jets. Do they catch flak...hell no. If they say it, it must be right.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can worship some actor who is a lowlife or a dimwhit, but wouldn't let their neighbor in their house if they were the same way.

*** disclaimer: I don't lump all actors as lowlifes or dimwits but there are definately enough of them to go around

Yes but I would say the majority of people that really follow every word of celebrities are not the same people that are concerned with politics and consistently vote.

I think folks may follow celebrities but when they support liberal politicians its a general turn off to average/middle America voters.
