State One Reason Why You are Voting for Obama
Pretty much what the topic says. Please leave the sarcasm and off topic remarks aside. I just want supporters to list one specific reason why you would vote for Obama. Critics, please hold off until supporters have had some time to respond.

He's young.

Re: State One Reason Why You are Voting for Obama
I haven't picked who I am going to vote for yet but my biggest things that I do like about him is that he wouldn't nominate social conservative judges most likely, I am in favor of universal health care, and I think that he would take stronger action on climate change. However, I lean towards McCain when it comes to a focus on cutting spending and free trade.

Re: State One Reason Why You are Voting for Obama
1. He wants to focus U.S. on scientific advancement. This includes alternative energies and medical research. He will not allow the religious right to stranglehold scientific progress.
2. He truly understands why the European early educational system is so much stronger than ours and he plans on implementing systems that work here. For example, you test kids at the start of the year and at the very end of the year. You fund art and music research because those kinds of classes have been proven to spur innovation across the board. 3. 21st Century New Deal-Domestic Jobs. He's got GREAT ideas about economic jobs that can't be outsourced. -Public Transportation Infrastructure: We've already seen these past few months that Americans need public transportation. Existing systems are being overwhelmed by commuters who can't pay higher gas prices. Many big cities without public transport are scrambling. We need to put resources out of reconstructing Iraq and put them towards reconstructing and creating public transportation infrastructure that will save commuters money and keep commuters revenue out of the hands of oil companies and send them back into local goverment. If done correct, public transport. -Conservation retrofitting. You want to figure out what skilled laborers can do now that manufacturing is gone? Energy effeciency is going to be a huge part of saving on energy costs, conservation techniques can be built into buildings and will require skilled labor to do it. -Alternative energy production. Solar panels need to be constructed as do Windmills and hydrogen fuel cells. All of these processes can be done in the United States, again you can't outsource that job.

Yesterday, John McCain actually said that if he’s president he’ll take on, and I quote, 'the old boys’ network in Washington.' I’m not making this up. This is somebody been in Congress for 26 years, who put seven of the most powerful Washington lobbyists in charge of his campaign. And now he tells us that he’s the one who’s gonna take on the old boys' network,” he said. “In the McCain campaign that’s called a staff meeting!- Obama, 9/17/2008 |

Re: State One Reason Why You are Voting for Obama
Not sure who I'm voting for yet, but I imagine if I do vote for Obama, it will be for the same reason that I usually vote for any candidate: because he's slightly less evil than the person he's running against (McCain, in this case).

Re: State One Reason Why You are Voting for Obama
Yes. It's safe to assume that since he is a Politician, Obama is extremely evil, just like every other Politician. However, some Politicians are slightly less evil than others. They're usually the ones who get my vote.
I'm kidding, of course. Well, half kidding anyway. |
