Obama picks hillary for VP ?
As much as I despise Carter, I think he's found some things to be right about here:
Hillary as Obama VP ‘Worst Mistake’ Naming Hillary Clinton as Barack Obama’s vice presidential running mate “would be the worst mistake that could be made,” said former President Jimmy Carter. ............................... Carter cites opinion polls showing that half of U.S. voters have a negative view of Clinton. ............................... After formally endorsing Obama for president Tuesday, Carter asserts Obama and Clinton together on the same ticket “would just accumulate the negative aspects of both candidates.” ............................... “If you take that 50 percent who just don’t want to vote for Clinton and add it to whatever element there might be who don’t think Obama is white enough or old enough or experienced enough, or because he’s got a middle name that sounds Arab, you could have the worst of both worlds,” Carter said. ............................... His comments, it should be noted, came before Obama clinched enough of the Democratic delegates and superdelegates to win the nomination. Newsmax.com - Carter: Hillary as Obama VP ‘Worst Mistake’ |

However, even the worst mental cases have lucid moments. Carter has happened (maybe accidentally, who knows) to say exactly what I thought from the very first time I heard that Hillary might be considered as Obamas VP. That's all. Then again. Maybe it's just that crazy people think alike ? I guess we'll see. I STILL think it would be very foolish of Obama to choose Hillary as VP, and I don't think he will. Because, even though I don't support Obama I certainly don't think he's an idiot. And I DON'T think his goal is to let Mcain win the whitehouse. |

Re: Obama picks hillary for VP ?
More reasons Obama won't choose Hillary as his VP
Analysis: Hillary Can Never Be Obama’s VP Any chance that Barack Obama would choose Hillary Clinton as his running mate has been quashed by what some observers are calling the “deal-breaker” — Bill Clinton’s refusal to readily release documents from his White House years. To put Hillary on the ticket is to confront nagging questions about donors to the Clinton Library and Bill’s refusal to release them,” said political analyst Dick Morris. “It would be to inherit a load of baggage that Obama does not need as he tries to position himself as the candidate of change, antithetical to the corrupt and corrupting ways of Washington.” But that’s not the only strike against Hillary in her presumed quest to gain the vice presidential slot. The Obama camp is angry over Hillary’s refusal to drop out of the race after it was all but certain that Obama would gain the nomination. While Hillary plans to concede on Saturday, she has still not withdrawn from the race or released her delegates. Plenty of animosity remains between the Obama and Clinton camps following a long and sometimes acrimonious battle for the nomination. Obama’s wife Michelle is said to be dead set against Hillary as the Democratic vice presidential candidate. .......................... But putting Hillary on the ticket for vice president would create a “ménage-à-trois,” with Bill “the unexpected roommate,” Morris writes. Newsmax.com - Analysis: Hillary Can Never Be Obama’s VP |

Re: Obama picks hillary for VP ?
Obama will not pick Hillary as VP if he values his life. Hillary already threatened to bump him off.

Re: Obama picks hillary for VP ?
Well, maybe I spoke (posted) too soon. I STILL think it would be outlandishly foolhardy of Obama to have "the clintons" involved in ANY way with how he plans run the rest of the campaign.
Obama: ‘I’m Going to Need Bill Clinton' Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama says he will put aside raw feelings from a fractious primary campaign and marshal all of the Democratic Party’s resources, including making significant use of the Clintons. The Senator from Illinois says he has no hard feelings over the campaigning style of the former president, who made the case for his wife on the stump in terms that some Obama supporters considered insulting and demeaning. “Look, there is nobody who is more talented or more gifted than Bill Clinton when it comes to understanding the broad crosscurrents of America,” Obama says. Obama respects the former president for fighting so hard to preserve his own legacy, adding, “Understandably, he thinks that his wife would have been the best person to continue that legacy. “My strong feeling is that moving forward, I'm going to need Bill Clinton involved in this [presidential election] process," he says. "He still is a transcendent political figure in this country. And I want him involved. And I’ll be looking for his counsel and his advice.” Newsmax.com - Obama: ‘I’m Going to Need Bill Clinton' |

![]() In your later post you thought you might have spoken too soon since Obama says he needs Bill. I wouldn't necessarily read into that that Hillary will be his VP. Just that he needs Bill to help "unify" the party and nothing better than a popular former president to drum up support for you. Disingenous as it may be.

Re: Obama picks hillary for VP ?
I think if Hillary as VP was the deal, it would have been done a while ago, he's got the nomination sewed up, barring a huge negative event that blows him out of the water, and she's committed to helping him, or she loses her future with the Democratic party, and I don't see much for her in the Republican party.
Hillary doesn't balance the ticket in the way a lot of other choices would. She may make a deal for party leadership, or a cabinet position, even Bill Clinton could be in an Obama cabinet, and she can have a nice career in the Senate leadership and be the most influential woman in US history for the rest of her life if she plays her cards right.

Re: Obama picks hillary for VP ?
I doubt that even the ethically devoid sitting Congress is going to confirm a disbarred perjurer for a cabinet position.
I also dont see him ever getting a security clearance again. Matt
