Re: NPR 2008 Election Map
I love NPR so it pains me to say this, but their electoral map is all wrong and does not have the most recent polls. This website, electoral-vote.com tracks every poll for every state. Tracks them and averages them to determine who would win the state today. They are incredibly accurate and totally non-biased. They have Obama at 287 and McCain at 222 with 24 states tied. Here's a link, judge for yourself. When you put your mouse on each state it shows you where they get their numbers from. Election 2008: Presidential, Senate and House Races Updated Daily

Yesterday, John McCain actually said that if he’s president he’ll take on, and I quote, 'the old boys’ network in Washington.' I’m not making this up. This is somebody been in Congress for 26 years, who put seven of the most powerful Washington lobbyists in charge of his campaign. And now he tells us that he’s the one who’s gonna take on the old boys' network,” he said. “In the McCain campaign that’s called a staff meeting!- Obama, 9/17/2008 |

Quote:
I think the difference is mostly that the NPR map leaves more of the "barely..." and "weak..." states as "toss ups." I like the ability to shift the states around and see how the electoral math works out. E.G. take the 2000 results and flip NV and NH and you get a tie.
