MN Senate Race - Coleman v. Franken

YouTube - Al Franken Green Screen Conspiracy?

I guess Coleman can't run for re-election on his policies, because his policies are just like Bush's. So he has to campaign by mocking the Democratic candidate with a really stupid ad.

I don't think it's a winning strategy anymore. I think Americans have smartened up a wee bit.

On the other hand, Al Franken's ad is about policy, education, health care, jobs and infrastructure and Iraq.

Franken Unveils New Ad | Al Franken for Senate

The race is close. They are like 3 points apart right now in the polls.

You can tell its election season. The democrats are waking up their many forum accounts to flood the Internet with their garage again.

Al Franken cannot even keep people watching and listening to his no talent shows. What makes you think he can het elected?

BTW, maybe he should worry about getting square with the American people by paying his taxes he seems to forget about.

This shows you what type of party the democrat party has become. What next? Jerry Springer for President? Well him and Obama are about as sleazy as the other one.

Al Franken undisputedly outed as a Lying Liar.
Oooh Al!

This is all over the blogosphere, and is spreading literally, by the minute.

Michelle Malkin and Brian Maloney of Radio Equalizer have been hot on the trail of the tax dollars that were diverted from underprivileged kids and sick, elderly people to keep the daily spittle fest that is Air America's programming afloat.

And they have hit pay dirt.

The short story is that Franken got on the air and denied any knowledge of the scheme and claimed that he was a victim himself. Now Malkin and Maloney have (somehow) gotten a hold of a document that Air America's legal mouthpieces put together to absolve everyone of everything.

The document explicitly mentions the $875K from the Gloria Wise boy's and girl's club, and all of the key players were signatories to this masterpiece of legal chicanery…including Franken who is mentioned specifically as well.

In part 20 of the document, entitled “confidentiality”, we learn that not only was Al Franken aware of what was going on…he explicitly agreed to help keep things on the QT.

20.1…..”As to Franken only, the foregoing restrictions (on giving news interviews or making press releases) and covenants of this Section 20 shall not be applicable, and instead, Franken agrees only to keep in confidence the specific material terms and conditions of this Agreement, except Franken will not be so obligated (i) to the extent disclosure by him of any such information is compelled by subpoena or other legal process or (ii) if such information is in the public domain other than as the result of Franken’s breach of his obligations under this section 20."

Is there anyone out there who still honestly doubts that these people are absolute lunatics? What the hell could Franken have been thinking? One can barely contain the anticipation of listening to Franken, who hates “liars” with a heated passion, weasel his way out of this mess.

Yesterday, Franken said "I am not an investor, and I didn't see this thing", but that was before Malkin & Maloney posted a copy of the agreement, complete with his notorized signature.

What's he going to do tomorrow? Claim insanity?

Which brings one to wonder if he might not now re-consider his promise to run for Paul Wellstone’s Senate seat against Norm Coleman. If he's going with the insanity plea, he'd be better off going after Mark Dayton's seat....

That way he could claim that he's trying to keep it among the fraternity of certified left-wing mental defectives...ya know....know what you're getting before you buy and all that.
When Al can explain why he and AA stole thousands of dollars from a children program to keep a failing radio show from going under and why he lied about it, then maybe someone will listen to what the liar as to say.

Franken is perfect for the Senate

What Jesse Ventura was to state politics, Al Franken will be to the US Senate. And with the reputation the Senate has earned, Al Franken will be a perfect fit. He has no formal training in government policy. He has no experience in forming national policy. He is a partisan whose strong suit is smear tactics. As I said, he's perfect.

Re: MN Senate Race - Coleman v. Franken

ehhh, I think Minnesota has had its fill of celebrity politicians. The more people I talk to about this particular race, the more I discover how much of a joke people think he is. Still, it is Minnesota, and we seem to have more than our fair share of sheep.

Oh really? Perhaps you have some links to examples of Franken having used smear tactics? I live here and haven't seen any such thing coming from his campaign, but perhaps I missed it.

I have heard local and national GOPers (including posters here) use derogatory terms to describe Franken, but I certainly won't point at the Coleman campaign and blame him for it. About the only negative ad against Coleman playing here, linking him by use of public records to big oil, was done by a "527 group," not Al Franken or his campaign. Considering Republican's wide use past, present, and future of such groups, I'd withhold whining about that if I were you.

As to your reference to Jesse Ventura, it seems you don't have much of a clue about him either. Though I am not now, nor have I ever been a Ventura supporter, there is one trait he shares with Al Franken, he says what he means and doesn't shift his loyalties when he sticks his finger in the air and finds the political winds have changed. Beyond that, Franken and Ventura are as different as night and day.

Coleman is nothing but a classic career political opportunist and makes every "decision" based on it's effect on his political future. He went from being a "strong" Paul Wellstone "supporter" to kissing Bush ass, to now trying to distance himself from Dubya, the Failure. Not exactly the most ethical guy OR someone we can depend on.

So. please get on that "smear tactic" link thing or just be relegated to being part of the "I got nothing but false allogations" crowd.

I disagree, if he makes a charge against someone, it's incumbent upon him to provide the evidence to make his case, not me. The same has been pointed out to me on this very board and I've tried to respect that principle since. Or does that basic "rule" of debate only apply to people you don't agree with?

Roll your eyes all you please, I'm saying you and Richard J got nothin' and till you prove differently, you are shooting blanks.

Its no basic rule, people can post as they please (so long as it falls within the forum rules)...they don't have to spoon feed you, just stick with wanting the government as your mommy rather than other posters.
