You should have gotten down to #28, which was shown to be absolutely true.

Yes, you right, but LS's threads are nowhere near as bad as CMS's threads.

BTW, does wearing a flagpin make you a patriot? Does not wearing one mean you're not a patriot? I'm merely asking because I've yet to see anyone address this question. It is one of the things Obama apparently gets criticized for, that is not being a patriot due to not wearing a flagpin.

I'm just curious as to how some members of the right side of the isle feel about it.
I've never really thought about it, i know my fair share of politicians and pretty much npne of them wear a flagpin in their day to day life if not on camera.

I think its much ado about nothing tbh.

We agree. It just keeps coming up in some of those (what I would classify as) smear campaigns. It just seems a little far-fetched and pathetic to an outsider viewer... like the people coming up with these things against Obama doesn't really have anything on his policies (or at least not the mental capacity to string together a coherent sentence as to why they don't agree with him), so instead they resolve to these almost childish accusations.

Just my honest opinion, for what it's worth.

Re: 50 Obama lies?

The thing is with the flag pin issue a lot of folks don't realise that politicians only wear it for the camera, my state's Senator for example, John Cornyn never wears one when he's off camera, and our Governor is the same.

But when folks see Obama doesn't wear it and yet McCain does they see it differently. Its kind of like you don't have to wear a suit in a debate but if you wore a baseball shirt it'd be criticised, sometimes there are double standards with public images tbh.

But like i said the average joe won't know this as they don't spend time with politicians.

Really? After the first 27 lies, you believe number 28? You're a trusting soul.

Absolutely true? More like "Disputed." See the Factcheck presented by Angry American for verification.

Even the link presented by Angry American indicates that there was contact, the dispute is over the content.

The claim was that nobody from the Obama camp contacted the Canadians. This appears to be false, from the link Angry American provided.

Re: 50 Obama lies?

Where do you get the info that the Obama camp says nobody contacted the Canadians?

Quote:
After that report aired on Wednesday, an Obama campaign spokesperson claimed in an interview with CTV that "no message was passed to the Canadian government that suggests that Obama does not mean what he says about opting out of NAFTA if it is not renegotiated."

I found that the Obama camp says no message was passed.

No, there was contact with content, but there was a dispute regarding exactly what that content was.

Re: 50 Obama lies?

Picture of Senator Barack Obama Failing to Salute the Flag While Others on a Platform, Including Senator Hillary Clinton, are Saluting-Truth!

Summary of the eRumor:
A picture of Senator Barack Obama (below), Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico, Senator Hillary Clinton, and one other person all on a platform and backed by an American flag. The eRumor says that the National Anthem was being played at the time and that all but Senator Obama saluted.

The Truth:
The picture is authentic. It was published in Time magazine and was taken 9/16/07 at an event in Indianola, Iowa where six Democratic presidential candidates appeared. It was Iowa Senator Tom Harkin's annual "meat and greet." The fourth person in the picture is Senator Harkin's wife, Ruth. Not seen in the picture are three other candidates who were standing out of view on the right side of the platform, Senator Chris Dodd, Senator John Edwards, Senator Joe Biden.

At question is what was going on with Senator Obama? His critics are circulating the picture and saying that he is not respecting the flag or the National Anthem, especially since the protocol, according to the United States Flag code, is that civilians should have their right hands over their hearts and that they should be facing the flag. His supporters are saying that this little lapse should not be held against him since there have been plenty of other events at which he has saluted the flag---so it did not mean that he would, in principle, avoid doing it.

Some supporters have suggested that perhaps the picture does not tell the whole story and that he may have raised his hand shortly after it was taken.

An ABC News video, however, shows that Senator Obama did not salute at any time during the Anthem and that everybody else on the platform did.
Same source as AA.......This alone is enough to prove to me that he is not fit to be President. He cannot even show respect of the American flag!

Re: 50 Obama lies?

please show your primary sources before you make these accusations

also some of these things are simply not thought through very hard, like # 5 for example.
He has two grandmothers!!! Cmon

90% of this is TOTAL BULLSHIT

however I do see legitimate points in a few of them

Re: 50 Obama lies?

When lists of lies are posted, even if one or two of them have a bit of truth to them, the overall dishonest smear is so outrageous, nothing can be believed.

Re: 50 Obama lies?

I really wouldn't say I'm a supporter of either candidate and have not settled on one but I must say that the tactic of sending out e-mails that most people do not have the time to fact check is getting a little old. I know this has been around long before e-mail in other forms but Obama seems to attract more of this sort of thing than any candidate I know. While some of these things are true or partly true others are things taken out of context or only half truths. Snopes did a descent job of breaking it down.

snopes.com: Obama's 50 Lies

Re: 50 Obama lies?

Snopes does a great job of weeding out the internet lies.

I think the reason they are lying more about Obama than any other candidate is because there's really no facts to "get" him on so they have to resort to smearing him with lies.
