Re: McCain to give speech with bikini contests and musicians
While I'm not a fan of the whole biker trend (by that I mean how every middle aged man seems to be a biker now where I live) I do actually find this refreshing. Why should politicians be required to have a stick of their asses so long as they are serious when it counts.

Exactly....and even though his wife sold off some of her holdings in beer, she should definately help provide the refreshments.

![]() Isn't that exactly what happens to politicians on either side? Seems that there's a long string of threads criticizing Obama for whatever he does as well.

Re: McCain to give speech with bikini contests and musicians
It's hypocritical of McCain to try and link Obama to hoodlum celebutants while at the same time giving a speech to a bunch of bikers.

Him and Obama should both address this audience, and take Bill too, and maybe the first President Bush, looks a lot of fun!

Re: McCain to give speech with bikini contests and musicians
Well to be fair modern bikers are not the bikers of the 60s whose main source of fun was from snorting cocaine, raping women, and beating the shit out of cops. Today bikers are mainly middle class and middle aged men that want to feel like they are not completely lame so they take up being a biker on weekends and vacations.

Re: McCain to give speech with bikini contests and musicians
Personally I think that all the attacks right now on this board are annoying as hell. One group is picking on McCain for just about everything other than positions on the issues and decisions making and the same with those attacking Obama. It seems this campaign is about nothing but bashing the guy on the other team rather than pushing a candidate. There is indeed positives to say about both that we never hear on this site. Obama is a very good politician and and has a real talent and McCain does indeed have many accomplishments to be proud of. It should be noted though that as far as the campaigns go the negative attacks are coming mostly from McCain's side and I find it disturbing that a few months ago he was talking about how we need to have a campaign of ideas and dispense with negative campaigning but now that it isn't working out for him he through that out the window.

What positives? (I would agree about everyone needing a bike being ridiculous but i haven't noticed it so much in Texas). The noise they churn out is horrible...

If he wants to give a speech, he should find some tight assed fun police baptists or something, right? They shouldn't let filthy bikers vote anyhow......

Re: McCain to give speech with bikini contests and musicians
For one thing they both are pushing the idea of being flexible and compromising which I like. I take pragmatism over ideological dogma any day. For all the childish insults thrown at Obama's following it does indeed take talent to get that many people on board and is getting younger people to pay attention to national politics which I see as a very good thing. McCain has been a very successful senator and has managed to show some real accomplishments and is willing to stand up to both people in his own party as well as the other. I find it refreshing to see two real individuals running for a change rather than two guys that just look to their party platforms for positions and ideas (really ideology means not having to come up with any ideas of one's own). The negative campaigning is bothering me though because I would rather somebody sell them self than just tear the other guy down but I guess that is what McCain thinks he has to do. I am looking forward to the debates and hope to hear more things that are different from 2000 and 2004. I would take either one of these guys over Bush, Gore, or Kerry.
