It's tough when you are out there fighting to portray your opponent as an elitist, and someone asks you a gotcha question like "How many houses do you own?"
And you can't remember............and you need your staff to count them up for you....................

I'll bet when the debates roll around, he writes down the number in his palm......

That was funny, if you have the luxury of counting how many houses you have then at least make sure you know to do it before being asked by someone!

But i think he may be showing off a little rather than forgetting, just his way of telling Obama he is richer, now matter how many books Obama writes!

That's funny. And it's an interesting point. How many houses does "elitist" Obama own? Not that I really care how much either guy is worth, but if any of McCain's houses are made of glass, well... throwing stones is not advisable.

McCain has about 10 residences....

To be fair, McCain only owns about 2 multi-million dollar houses (What you would traditionally call a house)..... the other 8 are luxury apartments or luxury condominiums.

I agree, this is a 'gotcha' moment. I cannot fathom losing track of how man SUV's I own, as John Kerry did in 2004, let alone have trouble counting up my homes. Kerry first said he owned none, but his family may own some. Then he spoke in Detroit and bragged about how many he owned. Things like that reflected his personality and lost the election for him. Therefore, I have no complaints if Obama's campaign uses this in an ad. This is fair game in my eyes. Set it against the backdrop of the rising forclosure numbers and go with it!

BARACK OBAMA--just opened Pandora's box on this one. Tony Rosco, another -- Of course -- associate of Barack Obama's was recently convicted of being a crook & ripping off the City of Chicago for millions of tax payer dollars. It turns out that good ol' bud Tony is also very responsible for getting Obama's 1.9 MILLION dollar home that he & his family currently resides in. Along with small vacant track next door. UPPS--BACKFIRED--BIG TIME. It's very clear that Obama & his campaign are loosing it. They're freaking out. McCain is closing in on most polling data, & actually ahead in one. Obama is freaking out over this. This was not suppose to happen. The "infatuation, love affair" is no longer, & he cannot understand it. So he's loosing it by bringing this up, along with a statement--"if they bring a knife, we'll bring a gun"! What's that all about?

The McCain campaign is already on this house deal, with a radio add regarding ANOTHER questionable associate of Barack Obama's, & how he acquired his home.

What is hillarious about this situation, is the main stream media never ONCE questioned John Kerry on how many homes he owned, & or how much they were worth. It turns out that ALL of John McCain's homes, do not add up to the value of even one of John Kerry's homes. Again, the liberal biased media at work.

BTW--I am a middle class American, myself & spouse own 3 homes. We prefer to invest in real property, versus stocks & bonds. So we have two rental properties, & one home we live in.
