im a political out cast in my family. they've voted straight dem for years. but that was different party back then. they knew something was wrong when I came home from Nam. and when my dad came back from WW2.

The Republicans are different, too. Our politics has degenerated because the American electorate fails miserably when it comes to holding politicians accountable. We're spectators, for the most part, which is antithetical to what a healthy democracy requires.
