In this technologically advanced career-focused age we live in, there still remains the existence of the housewife, who is usually home in the middle of the afternoon.

On another note, there has been times when I've answered poll-related phone calls around 6-7pm before. Most 9-5ers are home by then.

I love it!! When the polls showed that McCain/Palin were up by 10 points, Republicans in this forum were cheering. Now that their guy is behind in the polls, they all say "Polls Dont Matter". Not one of them said then, "Polls dont matter".

Just for a good laugh, have a look at what these guys were saying then and compare it with what they are saying here.

No. Most polls are conducted in the evening hours.

So, they probably hardly ever interrupt Soap Opera welfare recipients.

I love retro threads. Love going back to see what people were saying at one point, and how people's views change or flip-flop or whatever over time.

I must toot my own horn. On Page 2 of that thread my post was as close to the truth of the matter in that entire thread. I was quite proud to come across it. The overlooked thing about polls is that they should be taken together and averaged out, whereas the partisans and the most ignorant among us just take one snapshot and run with it without looking into that poll or understanding anything other than the number they see.

Re: Fox Poll Shows Obama Leading 46-39%

Ive always said polls dont matter, regardless of who is winning. Although, I wont hesitate to use them against someone who beleives in them. The problem with poll is people change their mind. And many people dont answer polls truthfully or at all. There was some article recently that said polls were going to be skewed because there was a surge of new voters, the youth vote, the race issue. In the end its all bullshit. Who care what the polls say. Are you going to change your mind because of some poll?

Re: Fox Poll Shows Obama Leading 46-39%

Yeah narrowing to a 7 point lead. That's a thrashing.

What McCain needs are some polls showing him ahead in Virginia. I haven't seen a poll with him ahead in Virginia in a really long time.

Re: Fox Poll Shows Obama Leading 46-39%

True, Mason Dixon is a very well rated pollster over time. There's some silver lining for McCain. But when's the last time McCain polled ahead in Florida, New Mexico, Colorado?

Zogby was most right in 2004 and 2004. They have Obama 48, McCain 44.

I believe according to electoral-vote.com the average national poll for today shows +8 for Obama. This does not include partisan pollers.

Can you prove that? Zogby tends to be really wrong actually.

Zogby is all over the place. They are bound to get it right sometimes.
