The meter, if you're watching it on CNN, is showing that indie voters could really care less about the negative stuff.

I just don't see how John McCain is helping himself out here. The Bill Ayers thing just didn't stick, and the meter was at it's lowest during that sequence.

McCain keeps attacking Obama as if he's got the good will of people on his side, but he doesn't. He needs to win indie voters and instead he's sticking with his crabby stylings.
I agree, reminds me of ROn Paul whining.

I watch Fox News just because when the debate is over I know they'll say McCain won. Makes me feel better.

I didn't watch the last debate, but this is the first time I've ever heard McCain actually dictate semi-intelligent policies. It helps that I agree with a lot of them, but if he would have done that from the beginning, or maybe even do it now without an ounce of useless attacks against Obama himself, McCain could make some headway. Whenever he takes little stabs, all I can do is shake my head.

Here we go on health insurance. LEts see how many times they say 47 million people (11mil illegals) dont have it. Lets soak the rich to buy it for them, and call it a tax credit (even though you dont pay any).

Obama's owning him on healthcare.

But it's not even the issues. McCain seems grumbly and frustrated and it continues to undercut his own arguments. He looks like he's gritting his teeth when he smiles and it's unflattering.

McCain should have come out tonight, smiling and carefree, and striking one narrative. Instead, he's decided to give his base a ton of red meat while alienating the indies.

There's nothing new here.

Nah, reality is, no one cares about it but some right wing nuts. Small minority. Everyone knows nothing will ever change.

Re: Here's your MSM coverage of the debate tonight

I hope the Right will give Obama the same respect we Left leaning flaming liberals have showered on George W for the past eight years. Maybe the fact that Obama wins by a landslide will make it more palatable? It won't leave such a sour aftertaste for the defeated side as when W was selected by the Supreme Court.

Listening to Obama try to explain how he votes present is fun. I was for it and against it. John KErry should take notes.

Re: Here's your MSM coverage of the debate tonight

JSM's attempt to claim that BHO voted against providing medical care to failed late-term abortions was lame. It fell flat on its face.

But, I am totally annoyed with the health care section. Here both of them are acknowledging that our deficit will be close to half of a trillion dollars, yet rather than concentrate on lowering medical care costs first, let's fork out more money in providing government funded health care before fixing the initial problem. Brilliant.

Obama - something about national security? we need more money, more reform ( iguess he didnt hear how we spend more than anyone else, Im thinking more reform makes sense). Make college affordable, Yale (100k a year), or community college ($2000 a year)? At least he got it right that parents are inept.
