Mortgage firm arranged stealth campaign

AP IMPACT: Mortgage firm arranged stealth campaign - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON – Freddie Mac secretly paid a Republican consulting firm $2 million to kill legislation that would have regulated and trimmed the mortgage finance giant and its sister company, Fannie Mae, three years before the government took control to prevent their collapse.

Seems the reps had more to do with the current financial problems then people are giving them credit for.

Unfortunately that is as above board as F&F donating large sums to Dodd and Obama.

I know both parties had their fingers in the till.
It's just that so many people on here were trying to put the blame completely on the Dems. and now we see the Reps were being paid by F&F to kill any bill that may have stopped this problem long ago.

And who spoke out against this? Not Obama but McCain.

The point is, both parties are to blame for this mess.
Haglel had a brought out a bill to stop this early, which was a good idea but there were 17 Republican senators in 13 states being paid by F&F to kill the bill.

I've seen no one trying to put the finger of blame solely on the Dems. I have seen a good few Dems trying to put the finger of blame on Republicans.... There is plenty of blame to go around..... Including each and every one of us who sat back and allowed our policitians (of any party) to run roughshod over us.
