I'm not sure what you are suggesting. Do you think that the American public is selecting the right person because of the press?

Frankly, it’s astounding. Five days before an election one of the giants of the news media admits we don’t know much about Obama and his worldview.

How can this be?

.

Easy.
All television media with exception of Fox News (who by the way was the ONLY network that gave even numbers of both negative/positive stories on both candidates) sold their journalistic souls in exchange to help Obama get elected.

MSNBC - is unapologetically the HQ for the Obama campaign with 73% negative stories on McCain with a tiny 13% on Obama..and that was probably 3 in the morning.
NBC is only slightly better.
CBS/ABC both gave TWICE as many negative stories on McCain than Obama.
Only Fox gave a completely even score to both candidates.

I have been extremely disappointed in the media, it is God awful that we have to look to British media to get stories before we see them here.

The fact is with this kind of unabashed slanted coverage - there is no reason for Obama to be specific! Why the hell would he be?

It is an absolute travesty that a person could get elected to the most powerful position on earth - and no one, not one single general voter knows anything about them.

What is it with certain folks who always decry the far left? There is seemingly isn't just a 'left', but only a far left or radical left. I have no idea what the 'far' left thinks because I rarely read or see anything that I would consider to be 'far' left.

Oh, yeah, I watched it. Wasn't a spanking, but we definitely lost. Too much bullshit off-tackle north/south running when we should have spread things out a LOT more.

I must admit, I'm a little confused as to Belotti's choice in the USC game and this one to keep trying to stick it up the middle. We're the overall fastest team in the NCAA, for god's sake. We're known for spreading out defenses.

How can this be?

This is Brokaw’s job! This is the news media’s job!! They are supposed to look into this sort of thing, report it to us and let us decide. Why didn’t they try to find out?

They have failed miserably.

Not only have they failed miserably to perform their basic function in American society, but they have actively worked to ensure Obama’s election.

When you go to vote, consider that what we don’t know can often be more important than what we do know.

The shortened YouTube version here.
You can see the whole interview at Charlie Rose’s website here.
We don't know much about him because we continue to ask the wrong questions while insisting they are the right ones.

And the GOP outdid them by a nose and a year's supply of lipstick.

Joe Biden's gaffes would have been a focal point of the fall had Gov.Palin not been the running mate.

I disagree. As you went as low as to state on several occasions that Palin was chosen as the GOP running mate because of her ability to give blow jobs and reinforced that you weren't joking about it, it's hard to get lower than that. So, as long as folks are aware of the base criticisms you utilize, we can highlight the lack of credibility you have for any judgment on this issue.

Those lines were said, but they were not said in that order or in the context that the OP put them in.

Here's a link to Charlie Rose.

I would suggest that people watch it for themselves. It's the height of desperation when you have to cull different snippets of conversations and then edit it to make it seem like they actually said that in that way.

Brokaw even went on to say that Obama was reaching out to even the right-wing think-tanks in Washington on foreign policy.

A conversation with Tom Brokaw - Charlie Rose
Nice try Jason. I watched the original airing of the program on Thursday and again just now. The OP is a fair representation of the interview, but I continue to look for a full transcript. The parts of your post I bolded are outright false.

Then you haven't been on the Daily Kos site in a while, or your sense of the center has been skewed. The "regular" left are the Bill Clinton Democrats, who have largely lost their voice in this election. They are being drowned out by shouting from the far-left and the right, both sides hoping to pull them either further left or to the right.

The far left are the people who bend their morals every which way in order to justify Bill Ayers' actions...who demonize our troops as baby-killing scum, who loathe capitalism and capitalism-spreading foreign policy, and who romanticize Cuba, Venezuela, and Che Guevara. They're not hard to spot in forums, just give them a little bait of a topic and their venom will spray forth. Their greatest defeat was the collapse of the Soviet Union, and they have been bitter at the world ever since.

Could it be because Obama doesn't ever look like some sort of zombie on crack? No, seriously, that weird head-tiled-back, eyes as big as saucers look from the debate, the one with his arms out and his tongue out from the same debate, his teeth clentching rictus he shows all the time, etc...

McCain looks very strange, very often. Perhaps Obama just doesn't.
