Possibly.

Are these polls counting early voting?

Amazing early numbers out of NC.

Mitch McConnell is going to just make it out in Kentucky. The Dems were hoping for that seat and Chambliss in Georgia to reach 60. Looks like they're going to get 58.

Al Franken's got a pretty nice lead so far in MN.
chambliss in in, and I don't think they will win 4 of 6 of the rest...I give them 57 tops....

Obama had a great ground game here.

Re: Election returns

One interesting thing to note so far, Obama hasn't officially flipped any Bush states yet, although his early performance in FL, NC, WV, IN, VA and OH look promising.

Re: Election returns

There's still 15 minutes to go in my state but I really don't expect any big surprises. John McCain and Mary Landrieu will be the winners. I truly hope I'm wrong about Mary though.

Re: Election returns

One difference from 2000 no matter how close Florida is, is that both Gore and Bush absolutely needed Florida to win. If Florida goes to McCain in a squeaker, Obama will probably win the election anyway and so we won't be treated to recount drama.

news reports of Obama winning Pennsylvania.

I think that's it. McCain had to have PA.

CNN called Michigan for Obama even though McCain is up 14,000 votes there.

Re: Election returns

Obama won't win Texas, but that he may only lose in single digits is remarkable.

A major component of these calls are still the exit polling, so nothing is set in stone yet. These media clowns never learn.

Predictions are also based on exit polls and the nature of the areas that are reporting.

Re: Election returns

9:15 and Obama hasn't flipped any red states yet, but it looks like he's surging in VA now and could end up with OH, FL and PA. It looks like he might be flirting with a landslide.
