Napoleon once said; “ you cannot kill a sect with cannonballs”. This is as true today as it was then.

Someone else whose name I cannot remember said you fight an idea with another idea.

The problem is they are both out ideas. They have been fighting so long and have so much interference from outside that they have both taken a stance that cannot be sustained. Another saying goes; “violence is the last resort to an exhausted mind”. They are both clearly exhausted.

Unfortunately they each refuse to allow mediation by parties who have no interests other than an honest non bias arbitration.

Until they are both left alone by outside forces the possibility of talks amongst themselves so as to reach some acceptable middle ground will not occur. The bloodshed will unfortunatley go on.....and on.

And here’s a wake up call for anyone who believes Obama’s election is going to transcend hate from Islamists:

In a fatwa published on the eve of the U.S. elections, Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi expressed his preference for Sen. John McCain as president: “Personally, I would prefer for the Republican candidate, [John] McCain, to be elected. This is because I prefer the obvious enemy who does not hypocritically [conceal] his hostility toward you... to the enemy who wears a mask [of friendliness].”

Al-Qaradhawi added: “Whoever thinks that the Democrats are less hostile to [the Arabs] than the Republicans should know that the number of Iraqis killed during the siege [of Iraq] by the Democrat Bill Clinton is twice as high as the number of [Iraqis] killed by the Republican [George] Bush.

“The Democrats kill you slowly without you noticing it - and therein lies the danger. They are like a snake whose touch is not felt until its poison enters your body.

“Therefore, I hope that McCain comes to power, so that the motivation for jihad remains in our hearts, and so that we do not [begin to] rely on the infidels - [which will cause us] to be struck by the fire [of Hell].”

Hope! Change!

Thought you might like a look-see at the reaction (albeit somewhat muted) from some of the less 'jump on the Obaaaamanation bandwagon' UK press....

From today's Mail on Sunday:

The night we waved goodbye to America... our last best hope on Earth
Last updated at 9:52 PM on 08th November 2008

Anyone would think we had just elected a hip, skinny and youthful replacement for God, with a plan to modernise Heaven and Hell – or that at the very least John Lennon had come back from the dead.

The swooning frenzy over the choice of Barack Obama as President of the United States must be one of the most absurd waves of self-deception and swirling fantasy ever to sweep through an advanced civilisation. At least Mandela-worship – its nearest equivalent – is focused on a man who actually did something.

I really don’t see how the Obama devotees can ever in future mock the Moonies, the Scientologists or people who claim to have been abducted in flying saucers. This is a cult like the one which grew up around Princess Diana, bereft of reason and hostile to facts.

Hmmm. Fatah renounces terrorism and recognizes Israel's right to exist. Hamas uses and promotes terrorism. Thus, the answer to your question; we deal with Fatah because they are not a bunch of raging lunatic terrorists, Fatah are not. Not much hypocritical there, but I do understand how you would think so. How dare Fatah recognize Israel, right? Perhaps you can find a Fatah supporter and handcuff one of them behind his back then toss him out a 14th floor window. That's what Hamas does; and you support Hamas.

As I suspected. In your mind, until generations of citizens of Israel leave, there is no possibilty of peace in your mind and in that of many others like you. Good luck with that attitude. It's gotten you so far already.

Not likely to happen... what other solutions do you see? You sound like you hate all Jews. Is this your position?

Sometimes I think the world would be a much better place if we bulldozed all the "holy" places flat so fanatics would no longer be motivated to kill over them.

Damn good idea. But first, we could excavate some historic buildings and move them to Arizona, London Bridge style. It would make a nice theme park.

No, All jews don't need to leave ME for peace to occur.
There are Arab Jews as there are Arab Christians. Ofc they can stay in their homes ...
Lets not forget Christianity and Judaism was in ME before Islam was.
Im a fair person despite how much my posts demonstrate that i am not. Removing the Israelis from Israel will be impossible and unfair.

Besides, as much as i hate it. The Qu'ran spoke of Israelis.

No; Allah stated Jews are people of the book. I cannot dispute that.

Perhaps some introspection into that hate would be a good first step in curing any blindness to the current situation.

Lol, if only there was no such thing as religion eh?
But we all know human nature. If it wasn't for God or religion we'd be using as a excuse for killing - we would find another excuse or cause.
Religion should not be blamed for anything.

Im sure i'll get over my dislike in time - I try to follow the Qu'ran and it does speak forgiveness.
