I don't think the dichotomy you suggest really holds up.
In a recent poll, 68% opposed overturning Roe v Wade, that is the highest support for Roe ever polled.
FiveThirtyEight: Politics Done Right: CNN Poll: Record Support for Roe v Wade?
You can be "against" abortion, but still favor a woman's right to choose.
In the same way you can be against smoking, and not favor the prohibition of tobacco.
And the significance is that Roe v Wade is a political issue, whereas opposition to abortion is a personal issue.

Getting 70% of a voting block is something you can do with a minority, that is focused on one or two issues.
Getting 70% from the largest voting block is a tough nut, because both parties primarily target that group with their policies. Despite the rhetoric, the Democratic platform is not aimed at minority voters, it's principle focus has always been middle class voters.

True, but there's no indication in that article of any breakdown on womens' views. The polling indicating a plurality of women consider themselves pro-life, comparable to the polling among men, belies Mr. Marcel's assertion that women disproportionately will be turned off by Republicans' "anti-woman" agenda. I don't think your average American woman, who may well consider herself pro-life, thinks that way.

I'm willing to do my part to help! Where's the white women at?

I should've guess based on the thread title alone that I'd find a lot of false accusations and projection from our left contingent.

My initial reaction was "No, they need to increase the number of intelligent voters," but then I realized that wouldn't be to their benefit - They need to increase the number of stupid voters beyond the number of effing clueless voters.

Both major parties are bad for our country, and until people figure that our rather than just trying to figure out which one is the lesser evil, things are only going to get worse.

I think the Republican party should get back to being a conservative party and stop trying to be the Republican party that Democrats want them to be. When they do this they will find voters of all races coming back to them.

I think the Republican party should focus on planning for its retirement.

I'm a Democrat, and I want the GOP to be the Conservative Party, pull in a solid 30% of the vote nationwide, and even have some Senators from a few states in the south. The GOP I fear is the Rockefeller Republican Party, that appealed to moderates and even some Liberals, keep that scary thing under the bed.

Noone can really know what the Republican platform is until Rush and Hannity tells the G.O.P. leadership.

If you really believe Rush and Hannity are the spokesman for true conservatives then I can understand why your posts are so off base when referring to those on the right.

True conservatives have a spokesman in Ron Paul and people like him. The Republican party however does seem to lean on Rush and Hannity and people like them.

There's a huge difference between Republicans and conservatives, namely that they have become mutually exclusive. I wouldn't expect a Libertarian to understand the difference.
