By what idiotic logic is having an additional candidate in the race a denial of choice?

Scozzafava dropped out on her own accord because she was out of touch with the party she was supposed to be representing and wasn't getting their support. Of course she endorsed the Democrat. She's always been a Democrat. In fact, they approached her to run on their ticket in the first place.

Will this make the GOP smaller? I highly doubt it. You're just projecting what you're personally hoping will happen. If Scozzafava were truly a moderate Republican she'd have gotten support from her party, but she wasn't. She is further left than the Blue Dog Democrats for Pete's sake. What sense did it make for Republicans in NY-23 to vote for a Republican that would vote exactly like a Democrat? They may as well have just voted for Owens. They'd get the same thing. What the hell makes you think gave Hoffman his opening? There was nobody in the race representing the Republican voters.

Doug Hoffman should go ahead and win the NY-23 comfortably. The conservative wing of the GOP has won this round with the on-line activists taking much of the credit.

If... IF... we can keep this up throughout 2010 Queen Nancy is in big trouble... with Obama right behind her.

And yet he still kicked the ass of the liberal democrat in all but affiliation and will beat the democrat. What is really funny is that the left wing republican dropped out and endorsed the less liberal democrat against the real republican, when by all accounts the best thing she could have done for the democrat in the race would have been to stay in it!

Great news for Democrats. This means the RNC has totally lost control of its shrinking base. There is at least an off chance now that the Repub party is in a permanent death rattle. It'll take its replacement decades to develop a winning national strategy, if ever.
