If most of that MoveOn money is corporate, then you might have a point, but if it's mostly individual citizens, then it's legit, since most incumbents get most of their money from corporations.

Has anyone called for MoveOn to open its books, and if so has MoveOn done so? If not on either count, if might be prudent to assume the worst on that count.

Re: Dem Civil War ramps up: MoveOn...

What I think would be an interesting question that would provide some interesting statistics, is "Where were you born?" Not only would it give us a picture of how many people born in foreign countries are living across the country, but it would also map internal migrations. I for instance currently live approximately 2,500 miles from where I was born. I think it would be interesting to see a map of country that showed the populations that are still living where they were born, and visa versa.

Thank you for your service. I personally have no problem with all of the benefits that veterans receive. I'm happy that my tax dollars pay for you and people like you.

However, from a strictly philosophical point of view its interesting that the reward our veterans get for their service in fighting for capitalism and freedom is ..... socialist-style nanny-state care.

When you get health insurance and 401k matching from your employer is that Socialist-style nanny state care?

Those are current benefits, and not future benefits like pensions.

When I quit my job in corporate america (I was fully vested), my ability to get free medical care vanished. If I wanted it, I had to pay for it. My 401k matching vanished as well.

To be honest, I think every government job gets these benefits.

When it's received is irrelevant. They are a benefit provided to them in a contract by their employer, which in this case is the government. Nobody is forced to join the armed services. They work hard and earn these benefits from their employer, the government. They aren't just handed out to them because they live and breathe.

Hardly a socialist nanny state, but I'm sure you already knew that.

you have a point but it is actually why i am so against universal healthcare, it may be a nanny state as you stated, but it is fricken terrible service, bottle of motrin and a fuck you from doctors and long waits between simple appointments, to give a quick story my wife was in a foot brace for one year before she could get the operation for her foot, by the time they fixed the foot her left knee was fucked up from limping so long!
