19% of Likely Voters Liberal

From a Democracy Corps survey data November12-16, 2009:

Q.20 Thinking in political terms, would you say that you are Conservative, Moderate, or Liberal?

Liberal........................................... ..................................19%
Moderate.......................................... ...............................32%
Conservative...................................... .............................44%
(Don't know/refused).......................................... ..............5%

Could be tough numbers indeed for the Democratic party with a president that is seen to be ever more liberal then before.

Do you have a link to the survey results?

Could be some pretty interesting times ahead for the Democratic party which had spent far too long being united by a common identification as "Not the party of Bush".

Re: 19% of Likely Voters Liberal

That is kinda strange. Question 12 shows that these same people polled would still overwhelmingly vote for Obama again if the 2012 elections were held tomorrow and a smaller majority said they'd vote Democrat if the 2010 elections were tomorrow.

i figure it shows that celebrity of the president wins over an unknown but the party has no clear message for the mid terms.

I could see that. Would be in line with people just simply not giving much thought to how they respond to polls.

Although, those who identify themselves as liberals have always been a pretty small minority of the US population.

I don't know who "sees" obama as liberal except for those who didn't vote for him last time and would not next time if he was running against bin laden. Most liberals are pretty pissed off that obama has not addressed any of their concerns. But when election time comes they will vote for him again because he will be the best they can get and any republican will be to his right. Maybe far far to his right.

And that message seems to be "Save your childrens future, vote for the other guy this time".
