Hmmm ... I must take issue with this. I was one of the motley crew of three who voted for Mr. Gingrich as our captain in this poll from March 2011: Poll of USPOL Members for prospective GOP nominee
Meanwhile, who can forget these prescient words from CSA in May 2011: Newt is Done.. thankfully

Oh and just for you, since you hate Paul because of his foreign policy stance, I present this:
The George Bush You Forgot - YouTube
Watch the video linked above. Notice the George W. Bush expresses the exact same foreign policy stance as Ron Paul and conservatives loved him for it. In this clip he calls for non-intervention, not being the policeman of the world, and having a humble foreign policy, exactly what Paul is saying. So now, is Bush weak on national security in the above video? Or does he make sense?

Moderates are not republicans
Ok he is wrong you say. Alright I challenge you: How is he wrong. Show me some empirical evidence showing he is wrong. I've debated you for a couple of months now on this in numerous threads, I've linked and quoted tons of evidence supporting my argument and I can do it again if requested. Now, for once on here, back up your argument with actual empirical evidence showing that Paul is wrong and our intervention is a good thing (and that it WORKS). If Paul is wrong, then by extension, Bush is wrong in the video above, all the conservative forebearers who had the same message before him were wrong, the CIA is wrong about Blowback, the Founding Fathers were wrong about a sensible foreign policy, the TROOPS ON THE GROUND who actually fight the wars are wrong. In fact by your logic, everyone is wrong, accept you. You are right. And apparently the Leftists/Progressives who basically invented and used interventionism abroad were and are right.
And if you don't think Paul will be President, cool. Just wait until Jan. 3rd 2012 buddy. Some shit is going down. And if Paul isn't the nominee, so be it, Obama will win a second term because that 6-8% of Paul's devoted base will sit home on election day because of the way Paul has been treated by the mainstream Republican party. If you guys could at least respect him, me and others like me would try to support the eventual nominee (minus Romney). But you guys do nothing but slander him, call him a "kook", "crazy", use ad hominems AND ACTIVELY DENIGRATE AND MARGINALIZE PEOPLE LIKE ME, HIS SUPPORTERS. If you think we are going to be treated like that and then fall in line just to get Obama out of office so we can have a Progressive RINO Republican who will be the same (maybe just a little "less worse"), you got another thing coming.
This election is simply this: Paul or no one else. Paul is the ONLY electable GOP nominee. All the others will lose, because the vast majority of Paul supporters will sit at home or write in his name on the ballot, period. It happened to McCain in 2008 (lost by about 6%, Paul's hardcore base at the time). and it will happen again (his base has grown since then). All other Republicans are unelectable.
In addition, all of us youth who support Paul and COULD eventually become loyal members of the GOP for decades to come, thus growing the party, are now lost for ever if Paul is not nominated (especially after the way you guys have treated him and us). I would gladly be a card carrying member of the GOP for decades to come, but if you guys are retarded enough to alienate an entire fucking movement and keep nominating RINOS/CINOS, etc. then you get what you deserve and what you will get is effectively loosing 6-8% of your base in every subsequent election. And you lose the opportunity to bring in liberty minded democrats who are sick of status quo Democrats and numerous independents who are only voting because of Paul. You will get what you deserve in this election.
Paul or no one!

Ron Paul is a libertarian. Therefore anyone who is conservative -- such as myself -- will not agree with him on a number of issues. Where we find agreement is his belief in fiscal responsibility and his desire to decrease the role of federal government. The problem is he goes off the rails for me with his policies of strict isolationism, his insistence on legalizing drug use, his railing against pharmaceutical companies, and a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head. If you like that stuff, great. I don't.
How many times can the same stuff be typed on here? Seriously?
Isolationism is not the same as non-intervention. Non-intervention is simply not getting involved in the business of others or having pre-emptive war. If we are attacked, we WILL attack back. Damn this is not hard to grasp. Isolation is NOT TRADING, NO DIPLOMACY, LETTING NO ONE IN YOUR COUNTRY AND NO ONE OUT. They are not the same thing!!!!!!!!!
Even Reagan admitted that libertarianism is the heart of Conservatism. Why? Because libertarian simply means "as little government intervention as possible in the economy". In other words, in the context of the US, keeping the Feds limited to only those powers enumerated in the Constitution. What isn't Conservative about that?
Once again, he won't legalize drugs. He will repeal FEDERAL not State drug laws. Only Federal drug laws. All fifty states still have drug laws in place, and thus drugs are still ILLEGAL. This too is not a difficult concept to understand. And of course we haven't had the DEA and drug laws since the beginning of time, they are very recent and guess what? Just like with ALL government intervention, the drug problem is WAY worse than it was before the Federal prohibition against them, just like with Prohibition in the 1920's. IT DOESN'T WORK AND IT COSTS TOO MUCH MONEY, which we do not have. It really is that simple.
And great if you don't like it, what I said before is true. You will not only get four more years of Obama (unfortunately - 2 years ago I would have absolutely cringed saying that and still do to a certain extent - but can't go the RINO route anymore), you will effectively lose 6-8% (maybe higher) of his base which could completely rebuild and regrow the GOP into a truly conservative party rather than a moderate RINO one. So not only do you lose this election if Paul isn't nominated, you lose elections (well at least Presidential elections) for a LONG time to come. Us young folks (I'm 25) who have been marginalized by you guys instead of at least respected for our convictions, will remember the way this shit went down, trust me on that. AND THAT IS NOT SULKING OR POUTING, ITS THE TRUTH. I am not voting for anymore Progressive "conservatives", period and neither will that 6-8%. Just wait and watch.

Everything being said, for me, it's definitely Paul or no one. I'm not falling for any of these other assholes' bullshit. They're all one in the same and that is the undeniable truth behind all their lies.
And you know what, I've literally heard this same message from HUNDREDS of Paul supporters, not just one or two. It's all over forums, article comments, youtube video comments, facebook, among my friends, etc. etc. We will not accept another RINO, period. The moderate/Progressive/liberal Republicans will destroy the GOP, not Ron Paul. And frankly they deserve it. And this is coming from me, a guy WHO HAS VOTED STRAIGHT GOP SINCE I TURNED 18. I VOTED FOR GEORGE W. BUSH IN 2004 AND MCCAIN IN 2008. Well, I woke the fuck up and so did millions of others. No more RINO's!

I just realized you didn't even watch the video I linked. I didn't say Bush said anything about Paul. The video very clearly shows Bush debating Al Gore. Al Gore defends the interventionist point of view and Bush expresses the same foreign policy message as Paul, he doesn't mention Paul, he's just saying the same thing. Oh you are hilarious.
"Truth is treason in the empire of lies"
--R.P.
And you know what guys? Just for shits and giggles, I'll add one more thing to all of this and I am being 100% truthful:
I have not only voted straight Republican since I turned 18 in 2004, voting for both George W. Bush and McCain, I have listened to Rush, Hannity, and Glenn Beck for almost everyday since Obama took office (with the exception of the past 2-3 months). I even listened to Levin from time to time. I own one Levin book, one of Hannity's books, one of O'reilly's books, and three of Beck's books. I agree with a good bit of what these radio talking heads say. I remember election day 2008, I was really worried about our country with Obama being elected. I joined this forum in September 2009 and every post I have made on here shows me to be a conservative and a CONSTITUTIONALIST. Shit, I even started a group on here called "The Constitutionalists". I own and consider "Liberal Fascism" one of my political Bibles along with "New Deal or Raw Deal", and "The Second Treatise of Government". I AM A CONSERVATIVE.
BUT, sometime in 2010 or so when I was watching Beck and learning about Progressives and their early agenda/history, it finally hit me like a ton of bricks. I started doing research and truly learning about free markets, a commodity monetary standard etc. I listened to Beck when he said Republicans and Democrats are the same thing. He was right. Beck sat there on his Foxnews show and said "Ron Paul is the closest to the Founders that we have today". I rediscovered Paul so to speak. I bought some books. I read "The Case for Gold". I read "Blowback" by Chalmers Johnson. I read "End the Fed" and just finished "The Road to Serfdom" by Hayek. I finally figured it out: both parties are but two wings of one party: The Progressive Party. It's that simple.
So when I come on this forum and post about Paul and express Constitutional views, what happens? I get called a LIBERAL. A fucking Liberal. After everything I posted above, after all of my previous posts on this forum dating back to 2009, after my voting record as described previously, how the fuck am I a liberal? Well, I am a CLASSIC LIBERAL or that is to say I believe in the tenets of the Old Right like Calvin Coolidge. But to say I am a liberal in the modern sense, that's fucking retarded. And it is stuff like that, the name calling and ad hominems, that IS the reason Paul supporters will sit home or write his name in on election day 2012, not the disagreement over policy or even necessarily philosophy. Yes those things are sticking points, but the name calling and marginalizing, that's what did it for me. I've been a team player for the GOP, a loyal one, as evidenced by my first paragraph of this post. I've done it. I've supported the GOP. I've hated on liberals. I've done it. And I'm done, not because of disagreement or passionate debating, but because of name calling bull shit. And millions of Paul supporters feel the same way. Embrace liberty or lose. It's that simple.

To steer this back to the OP with regard to Newt Gingrich, in addition to all that stuff I posted about his history in the other Gingrich thread, he also co-sponsored the original "Fairness Doctrine" bill. Still think this guy is conservative?

^^^Look at the 1:00 minute mark, Gingrich also voted for it.

Newt Gingrich is very proud of his support of Al Qaeda in Bosnia against the Christian population during the 1990's.
The GOP has such horrendous Candidates for President it is really no wonder they continue to struggle. Obviously the Capitalists support the GOP Establishment and their Liberal Pro War Global Nation Building Policies.
We dont need a white face on another 4 years of Obongo economics, which is exactly what you will get with Gingrich, Taxes to repay Goldman Sach's and the International Bankers, Global Revolutions for "Liberalism and Dumbocracy" etc etc.
Nein Danke!

I don't think you understand my point. Either that or you like being melodramatic. I didn't say he was against retaliation. I said he's an isolationist. And he is one. If you're his supporter and you don't grasp that, then you don't even know the person you support.
He did? When? Because Reagan wasn't a libertarian. He was a conservative. I'm highly dubious of your claim, since Reagan believed in the moral social views of the conservatives, not the subjective morality of the left and libertarians.
