    Electoral College Question.

What would happen if no candidate had passed the 270 mark due to an abstaining elector in a state that they carried?

Ex. 268-269 and an abstaining elector in Ohio.

    Re: Electoral College Question.

It goes to the House of Representatives... the current House, not the one newly elected, where each state delegation gets one vote.

Given the make-up of the current House, Romney would likely win.

As tsquare said, it goes to the House where each state gets 1 vote.

Though I'd wager that such an scenario is more likely to be the result of a third-party candidate eating up a few electoral votes than of electors abstaining.
