GOP unnerved by Democrats' candid camera techniques
Politicians recognize they give up a degree of privacy when they run for office.
Read more: GOP unnerved by Democrats' candid camera techniques - Alex Isenstadt - POLITICO.comBut Democrats are testing the outer limits of that understanding with a practice that raises questions about when campaign tracking becomes something more like stalking.
While most serious campaigns on both sides use campaign trackers — staffers whose job is to record on video every public appearance and statement by an opponent — House Democrats are taking it to another level. They’re now recording video of the homes of GOP congressmen and candidates and posting the raw footage on the Internet for all to see.

The Dems must really be worried about November. This smells of fear and desperation.
Why else would they be doing this?
If a man were behind four months on his mortgage and was talking to you about his plans to build an addition on his home you would think him daft and delusional. But in Washington, ignoring a current crisis to discuss grand dreams is called “boldness” and “vision.”

After "macaca", are you shittin' me?
There's gold in them there cameras, and you get some GOP reprobate saying goodbye to a hooker at 3 AM, that is fucking GOLD.
Geez, I thought you guys appreciated the entrepreneurial spirit.

Ah, if they want to be celebrities that have to expect the celebrity treatment.
But as cons are fond of saying, "if you've got nothing to hide..." in reference to drug testing and other invasions of privacy.
I am sure we will see a law passed one day that does not allow this sort of thing. Politicians need to protect themselves, as there might be a video of special interests bringing gifts of huge suitcases filled with cash. Or you have some republicans trying to gut social safety nets and right there online are videos of their mansions with servants and illegal aliens doing their yardwork.
Videos have shown cops being rogues, and they might show politicians as they really are. Yep, I see new legislation a'coming.

I'm an advocate of using someones crappy tactics against them. Film the damn Democrats at home and see where it goes.
Meh, celebrities deal with this all the time and worse. For example, I highly doubt someone's too interested in shooting up Nancy Pelosi's skirt. If you're in public and they're in public, it's not an invasion of privacy to photo or film anyone. If someone invades personal space or trespasses, etc, then that can be handled. Quite frankly, if it keeps shenanigans to a minimum, that's a good thing. If politicians don't like it, then remain a private citizen.

For 5 little cents per day, you can view the forums w/o advertising, search the forums endlessly, feel good about keeping this place up and running, among the other benefits that are offered to contributing members.

your a typical liberal that hates the constituion, you have determined that all republicans are guilty of a crime with no trial. you have deterrmeined that no republican has any right to privacy and gov agents are allowed to monitor them at home with no warrents or probable cause. i bet you wold love it if the dem party started to monitor repubs phones and hacking into their computers after all they are repubs so they have no rights and are criminals.
and your drug testing for gov money being a invasion of privacy you are wrong as usual.

I'm trying to understand if anyone was actually being followed or stalked, as the article claims.
Is recording someone's home a crime or a political statement? I mean, if you're going to make as a centerpiece just how awful you think things are in America, do you have a leg to stand on when you live in a mansion?
While the GOP is apparently "unnerved", maybe they can take the time to relay to their fucking fundies that setting off bombs at Planned Parenthood centers and health clinics for women is terrorism, and printing the addresses of doctors and nurses on websites is disturbing.
Seems to me the only people who keep getting bombed and shot and bullied are progressive leaning folks in America today, not the bullies who attack them. "On edge" because of the Giffords shooting rings false to me, because, again, conservatives don't get shot at, bullied or assassinated in America today while progressive-minded folk do.
