Just wow. A glimpse of a Romney Presidency? Insults the British and gets called out by the PM himself! I think Romney is actually out of his league when it comes to being a high profile politician and particularly on foreign affairs. What an abysmal failure.
I'm really sure that Americans will cast their votes in November influenced not by the economy or unemployment, but based on whatever the limeys have to say. Beyond that, lets see.........Romney runs SLC Olympic games, no problems, Limeys run this Olympics, serious security issues when they hire incompetents to run security........so tell me Danny, who looks like the fucking moron here?

Meanwhile, Obama is doing his part too -

Though I suppose that there is a bit of a difference between a gaffe by a presidential candidate and a policy by a sitting President.

You'll have to do better than that, Danny. I'm not going to get my skivvies in a scrape based on something HARRY REID said about the REPUBLICAN, for crying out loud.

It's Harry Reid: I don't believe what he says about DEMOCRATS, never mind the likely republican nominee for president.

Can't talk about unemployment, it's huge and going to stay that way
Can't talk about the ACA, nobody likes it
Can't talk about international, Europe is about to fall off the cliff and the Middle East is on fire, Russia and China both told us to go and screw ourselves. Iran is attacking our ships in the Gulf

Oh, and GITMO is still open...

My problem with Romney, is that as per fucking usual he has to back pedal, apologize, change his position and then look like he was consistent all along.
Except Romney didn't "trash" anyone so your comments are kinda irrelevant.

Well in diplomatic speak amongst nations and as a former Olympic games host it would seem like he took a shot at them and trashes them, well at least it did to the Brits. But i am all in favor of this so as long as they didn't find his comments irrelevant and they were angered by it i couldn't give a shit less what comments you find relevant and which ones you don't.

    Re: Romney in Shambles Overseas

What's interesting is that Romney said something that everyone else was already saying and people get their feelings hurt over it but the British Prime Minister says this.

Conservative British Prime Minister David Cameron mocked Romney in rebuttal. "We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course, it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere," he said, referring to Salt Lake City.
    What a dick.

The British PM? Only fitting, given the country he leads.

Sorry, no, it's all bullshit faux outrage. Your comments are baseless, and the comments of the British leadership is nothing but a ploy to distract from the fact that they are doing a piss poor job at things. If you want to fall for such blatant BS that's on you. For those of us who can think for ourselves you can see that his comments were even handed, held no malice, and were actually very tame.

    Re: Romney in Shambles Overseas

I know, that is half my problem with it. You are kind of unable to comprehend this (maybe as much as my comments are baseless in your opinion, your ability to interpret them are more telling of your inability to comprehend) so maybe i should spell it out a bit clearer.

See...you said in post 36, Romney was only quoting what others were saying, right? I was quoting what outrage those "British officials" as you put it, were quoting, and taking pleasure in it. Now i don't doubt there was a lot of faux outrage in it, let's face it, it is as phony as your ploy to get emotional and huffy here. And Romney is as easy a target to pick on as well..you are. However, when up against such cringe like you and the good GOP candidate, sometimes getting up on a cross is the best way to get offensive as it is the only way to get anywhere in making a point, like this useless exchange with you in this thread is showing.

    Re: Romney in Shambles Overseas

Unlike all the manufactured "gaffes" in the past few weeks in which the GOP distorted what President Obama said in order to create a "gaffe" out of nowhere, the verbal face-plants by Romney were entirely genuine.

They weren't taken out of context, they weren't manufactured by the Obama campaign. Romney's words were so ill-considered that conservative British politicians and publications felt compelled to express their contempt for them.

Mitt Romney is making Sarah Palin look statesman-like. And that ain't easy.

    LOL

Unfortunately for the Democrats this will not matter. The battle has been shaping up over the economy and the other issues like foreign policy, gun control, health care, immigration will all take a back seat to the importance of the economy.
I always find it strange that only reasonable people agree with me.

You had better hope so, because Romney is an abysmal candidate. At the moment, despite the fact that the economy is a mess, Romney is still generally trailing Obama in the polls, which is rather astonishing, when you think about it. Is it possible that Republicans have managed to nominate someone who, despite the economic woes we are facing, could actually lose to the president? Yes, I think it is.
