Yes, there ARE those that may find ties to Islamic ideology in some way or other with his use of the Ismael Ax name scrawled on his arm. It's TEMPTING to blame this on Islam.

However, it looks like this kid was really just a seriously unbalanced nut. Lord only knows what was going through his mind to justify such an activity. Maybe seeing and HEARING about suicide bombers appealed to him in a way so he applied it as he COULD... who knows. Impossible to unscramble his brains and ask him now isn't it ?

Maybe the pic of the guy on his box of Life cereal spoke rudely to him the previous morning ? Could have been anything.

All I hear from the nutjobs on this site is how bad Rush is yet this seemed to matter to the families of the victims that refused to appear on the today show strictly because of this. Not only that but the media isn't even reporting this guys connection to islam.

Another good question though, is how solid a connection can really be MADE ? The kid was OBVIOUSLY disturbed LONG before this event. Perhaps Islam came into his awareness because of what's going on ? Who knows.
