The clerk had the gun at the counter, and was AT the counter.

The guys who got their cars stolen were NOT in or NOT even NEAR their cars, and thus it hardly matter what sort of guns, missiles, bazookas or other firepower they had in the vehicle.

This fact appears not to be registering with you.

Re: Thieves Target Victims At Indianapolis Gas Station

If some dumbarse leaves their keys in their car, engine on and goes in to pay the clerk there is NO WAY I want to see that person lawfully in charge of a firearm - they're too careless to be entrusted with a firearm. In fact they should have their next car taken away from them. I lock m y car door when I go in to pay (we have a high incidence of car theft) and unlock it when I come back.

Please, stop spreading this ignorance.

Your interpretation is completely wrong.

I suggest you stop getting all your information from movies, and try to learn the difference between make-believe and the real world.

Some people are no-'count and will steal anything that is not nailed down. Perhaps a rat trap in the seat or a snarling dog my discourage them.
