With crimes like this with completely unneccesary cruelty and grotesque torture, the perpetrators should be turned over to the families for justice. If the families want nothing to do with it, the government can find some guy in jail willing to do it instead. Maybe two wrongs dont make a right, but a "right" isn't the goal, the goal is justice. A painless death by a needle in your fucking arm for doing something this fucked up is not justice in any sense of the word. And the idea of no death penalty... that's just outright freaking retarded. The only way someone can truly know the atrocities they've committed is by being subject to those same atrocities themselves.

I don't in any way understand why being jealous of someone because they're more priveleged than you can lead to something like this. What the hell? How do people even think of this sick crap? I want to think people are good but then some sick fuck-up goes and does something like this. Killing someone for no reason is one crime. All the other crap is just... I dont even know. I say if you don't punish people like this using their own methods, then at least let the family/friends screw them up. Or the public. How is retributive punishment, or at least punishment by the families' victims unfair in any way? Screw ethics. When people decide to violate other people's rights so heinously, they lose all rights inluding any right to ethical treatment or punishment.

Every family of a victim of such sick crap should have every right to torture, humiliate, and bring pain to the perpetrator(s) in any way they so desire, if they want to. If they want the perpetrator to die a painless death, that wish should be respected as well. The victims families should decide the death of the perpetrators. If I could add anything to the constitution, this would be part of it.

Indeed, this is a horrendous crime and the perpetrators deserve never to see the outside of a prison wall again at best if convicted of these acts.

Regarding the second link, however, my understanding is that the police and prosecution have determined that it is not a 'hate crime.' I have no reason to doubt the conclusion of the police and prosecutors who know the evidence.

Michelle Malkin was claiming this 'media political correctness blackout' tonight as a stand-in on Bill O'Reilly's 'The O'Reilly Factor.' I took it as self-created self-serving bunk to suit her columns and websites that are currently whipping this up for consumption, all of which benefits her bottom line. It was widely reported in the region where it occurred. And, if anything, the opposite of her claims is more often claimed as true with evidence to support it. Reports of blacks committing violent crime are commonplace in the media, so much so that they often complain about it being too lopsided with whites not getting the same coverage. Many also complain that the media covers white crime victims moreso than black ones (pretty white women and children who go missing and/or are crime victims get media attention whilst black ones by comparison get far less or none, etc)

I would just like to add that it is sick as fuck to make this into a race issue or pollitical issue when its not. and anyone who tries to make it such is either racist or stupid. this is a horrible crime no matter what race the perps are or what politcal affiliation they hold.

I'm not sure how arming one's kids has got anything to do with this debate though, Varusword. I dont think most kids out on a date would be carrying firearms ... Even if they WERE, what if the perpetrators were armed too (they were in this case, but I'm referring to general cases).
