Racist nonsense aside, people generally seem to be amenable to criminals being raped in prison (if not actually endorsing it - taking an attitude that "them's the breaks"). First of all, if that's the general consensus, why not support legislation that mandates rape as a punishment for crime? Secondly, does the issue of the long term effects of such abuse not resonate with anyone? Specifically, if a guy sticks up a convenience store and spends five or ten years in prison, being repeatedly gang-raped, does it not concern any of you that he's much more likely to commit sex crimes upon release?

Let me be clear about my position on the issue. I think that all reasonable steps should be taken to prevent anyone from being violated in prison, regardless of the crime that put him there in the first place. Supporting such violations or being indifferent to them is a defacto endorsement of vigilante 'justice' and it undermines any moral high ground of our justice system.

Rush Limbaugh, several years ago, stated that there are a million rapes per year in jails and prison.

Literally hundreds of thousands of white men were forced to live lives in prison as slaves to black beasts, and not just forced to endure the rapes, and being sold from one beast to another, they are forced to dress and act feminine, as well as pay money to their rapist beast for protection from other beasts. And the beasts flaunt their white "hos" in front of white guards, who do nothing.

It doesn't sound 'harsh' to me. Fact of the matter is that very few people care about people, criminal or otherwise, that they don't know. Every day, the evening news reads off a laundry list of people that have been killed or violated and inspires only a passing "that sucks" in most. If those people are criminals in the first place... one less reason to care. I'm practical enough that I understand the lack of empathy for the fate of hardened fellons. My argument against prison rape is largely a matter of principal and practicality, as opposed to empathy.
