I dont have a problem with my own argument. I have a problem with the intentional misrepresentation of the situation, the complete and total disregard for the responses you're getting, and the fact that you and others insist upon being obtuse.

Nope.

Legal defense of property in the state of Texas.

No doubt about it.

You need to get that through your head wallaroo. NO LAW WAS BROKEN BY HORN.

So now you're changing your argument? Only criminals you deem insignificant don't deserve to live?

No, its not murder.

Everyone started off the thread on the "Its murder but he's free" line until folks actually looked at the law and then it turned to moral outrage.

I don't have any problem with anyone who thinks what he did was wrong, its a very controversial issue, but so far he hasn't been charged and probably won't be.

That is your choice.

I, on the other hand, DO value my stuff over the lives of those who may wish to violate my home to steal it.

There's a reason that we don't try 13 yr old kids as adults for simple burglary...they make mistakes and one incident definitely doesn't warrant the death penalty. (BTW, you just shot my high school boyfriend and his friend who broke into the neighbor's house when they was 13. Tragic, because he was a helluva Marine after we graduated!)

We are not talking about a criminal trial. We are talking about recovering property while it is being stolen. If lethal force is needed to recover the property, then that is what it takes. Too bad for the criminal. What is so hard to understand about that?

Yes, if your high school boyfriend broke into my home when he was 13, he'd likely have gotten himself shot. Too bad. Some of the lessons we learn in life have some serious penalties.

One minute you said a criminals life isn't worth a damn now it seems like you feel people who commit misdemeanors aren't criminals.
